Narratives have an introduction, a series of events that create a problem for
the characters and a conclusion. These parts can also be called orientation,
complication and resolution.
Here is part of a story.
As the time machine grunted to life, Alex and | let out a triumphant
cheer.
“Where will you go first?” Alex wanted to know.
| smiled. “Why don’t you come with me and find out?”
Grinning with excitement, we clambered over the spaghetti-like wiring,
stepped into the machine and clung on tightly.WRITING TASK
Imagine you are the character telling the story.
Continue the story by writing what happens next. You do NOT have to finish
the story.
Make your adventure exciting.
Use descriptive words and phrases to help the reader imagine where
you are and what is happening to you. Here are some examples from
the story: grunted to life; a triumphant cheer; clambered; spaghetti-like wiring.
Be creative and use your imagination.
