LEARN TO COUNT

1. POEM 1

One, one, one, please cat run.

Two, two, two, the dog is after you.

Three, Three, Three birds on a tree.

Four, four, four cats on the floor.

2. POEM 2: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5

One, two, three, four five!

Once I caught a fish alive;
Six, seven, eight, nine, ten.
Then I let it go again.

Why did you let it go?

Because it bit my finger so.
Which finger did it bite?
This little finger on my right.

3. POEM 3: ONE, TWO, TIE MY SHOE

1,2 Tie my shoe

3,4 Shut the door
5,6 Pick up sticks
7,8 Lay them straight
9, 10 A big fat hen.
Let’s get up and count again!
4. POEM 4: TEN IN A BED

There were ten in a bed and the little one said,

“Roll over, roll over.” rolling motion
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were nine in the bed and the little one said,
“Roll over, roll over.”
So they all rolled over and one fell out….

This is repeated until you get to the number one. Each time “roll over” is said, rolling
motion is dramatized.
There was one in the bed and the little one said,
“Good night!”
