Crafting an essay on the subject of "Academic Essay Writing Structure" can be a challenging
endeavor that demands careful consideration and attention to detail. The difficulty arises from the
need to strike a balance between providing comprehensive information and maintaining a clear,
organized structure. It requires a deep understanding of the conventions of academic writing,
including the introduction, body, and conclusion.
The initial hurdle often lies in defining a succinct and engaging introduction that not only grabs the
reader's attention but also outlines the purpose and scope of the essay. Creating a thesis statement
that succinctly encapsulates the main argument while avoiding vagueness can be a meticulous
process.
The body of the essay poses its own set of challenges. Structuring coherent paragraphs that
seamlessly transition from one idea to the next requires thoughtful planning. Each paragraph should
contribute to the overall thesis and maintain a logical flow. Striking the right balance between
providing evidence, analysis, and maintaining the essay's coherence is a delicate task.
Ensuring a compelling conclusion that effectively summarizes the key points without introducing
new information can be demanding. The conclusion should leave a lasting impression on the reader,
reinforcing the significance of the essay's arguments.
Additionally, maintaining proper citation and adhering to the prescribed academic style guide can
add another layer of complexity. This includes correctly citing sources, following formatting
guidelines, and ensuring a consistent tone throughout the essay.

The truth is, a black woman and a white woman both can have the same curl pattern (e.g.
a 3c pattern), but have completely different textures. Now, is this starting to make a little
more sense? When I think of textures, I think of how something feels to the touch, to the
taste, and even to the sight. Some textures are smooth and silky, while other textures are
rigid and rough. Then, there s this whole thing on porosity. I won t go into detail about
porosity, but just know that if you ve relaxed or dyed your hair (and haven t chopped it
off sounds so drastic, doesn t it?) then more than likely the porosity of your hair is high.
The porosity of your hair determines how your hair may react to certain products because

Analysis Of A Lock Of Hair And A Wounded Heart
A Lock of Hair and a Wounded Heart Throughout the course of history and its literature,
authors and poets have served as messengers for the times in which they lived, whether it
be about political upheaval or social constructs or the lives of the common man. One way
this was accomplished was through satire. Alexander Pope, whom of which lived in the
literary Restoration period and wrote the poem, The Rape of the Lock, in 1714, provides
a work as an excellent example of satire. He parodies the upper classes favorite literature
(epic, heroic poetry) to mock the absurdity and irrationality of the upper class. Using the
common tropes of divine intervention, hyperbole, and lofty language, a gleefully
sarcastic tone emerges to allow the reader to see through the faux seriousness regarding
the loss of a strand of hair from a noble woman. In numerous works of epic poetry and
that of the classic style, an invocation to divine spirits and gods invited a sense of
vindication and importance in a work. Works like Homer s long beloved Odyssey among
others almost completely rely on divine intervention to effectuate the plot and justify
actions of either the protagonist or the antagonist. Pope crafitly uses this common tactic
in such works to parody the highbrow love for them. In the case of Belinda, her beauty is
such to rival nymphs and Aphrodite; she is incontestably divine in human form, made of
love and youth and flowering nature. That beauty, however, is soiled when a lock from
The History Of The Music Industry
The history of the music industry is inevitably also the story of the development of
technology. From the player piano to the vinyl disc, from reel to reel tape to the cassette,
from the CD to the digital download, these formats and devices changed not only the way
music was consumed, but the very way artists created it. (Edgar Bronfman, jr). The
music industry is an ever changing and ever growing business, it adapts and changes with
culture, economy and technology. For some it is a way of expression and offers realise
from mundane reality, for others it is a money making machine there to be abused. But
what is the future of the music industry? What place does it have in a digital world, ever
growing and advancing? How has file sharing and piracy changed the music industry and
what will it hold for the future business model? Many enthusiasts say we should embrace
the revolution of digital and look to the future as an exciting adventure, with untold
possibilities for recording artists and musicians alike. That the birth of digital and
technology such as the compact disk offer new ways to create, record and distribute
music in a way that was not available in a not so distant past, accessed only by those in
control of major record labels and professional recording studios. But what is file
sharing? what were the significant changes that have shaped an industry into being
dominated by the digital download and illegal file sharing? The purpose of the study is to

Pain into Beauty Essay
Pain into Beauty
People look back on their childhoods in different ways. Some see it as a time of joy and
laughter, love and learning. Many feel a bittersweet mixture of happy nostalgia, and
painful moments. Some prefer not to look back at all, seeking only to move forward.
Then there are people like me, who look back in anger, bitterness, and sorrow. It seems
that few people enjoy a pain free upbringing. In fact, the very idea of childhood is a fairly
new concept. In the early part of the last century, children were considered miniature
adults, and were expected to act that way. Abuse, as defined today, was ignored and
sometimes encouraged. Spare the rod and spoil the child. Today, abuse is carefully
defined and is illegal, but many ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...

We moved to Denver, Colorado during my first year of life, into a duplex. It was a very
small house, painted a deep blue. It is in this house that my best memories were made.
They are of course very hazy, as I was only three or four, but there are no unhappy times
at this point. I was the only child in my immediate family, and so was doted upon by
every auntie and uncle, by every granny and grandpa. I was the little queen of my little

patience was far less, and nothing I did was right. She cried more often, and would

In Flannery O Connor s short story Good Country People Flannery shows and teaches us,
you cannot judge a book by its cover, not even a bible. Though Hulga seems as if she has
a heart as cold as ice, you learn how vulnerable she is. You also encounter a character
named Manley Pointer. Who puts on a facade of being a good country boy, and a
Christian who sells bibles. Symbolism plays a major role in the way that these characters
are seen through out the story and how they perceive themselves. Multiple objects
presented in the story initially may be props. The reader soon discovers these props to be
extremely important, and necessary to how the story unfolds. These props symbolically

Her education and self absorption seemed to instill this attitude in her. Her weakness is
the feeling of power she believes she gained from her studies. When in fact as educated
as she is, Manley Pointer has blinded her with his ways. She calls herself a person who
sees through nothing. (pg. 144) Little does she know that she is stating her greatest
weakness by saying this. Her hidden desires and fantasies cause her several problems

another symbolism and a weakness. Her weak heart symbolizes her emotional problems.
She does not love anyone therefore, she thinks she is incapable of being hurt or having a

manipulation of Pointer Manley. I am not the only one who sees these connections with
her physical disparities and her emotional weakness and
Causes Of Gang And Gang Violence
Gang and gang violence has always been an ongoing problem within the country. Street
gangs have evolved into some of the most notorious group associated with murders and
killings that law enforcement agencies have encountered. Gang violence has become one
of the most serious crime problem happening in the country that involves physical
assaults, drive by shootings, homicides, robberies, prostitutions, and home invasion along
with a long list of criminal activities. It had occurred and multiplied so fast in which it

If the family associates love and respect for each other and themselves and engages in
such act then it may deter them from trying to find it elsewhere. Juveniles engages in
gang related activities because they lack the love and respect or living in abusive homes
in which leads to troubled childhood delinquency. It encourages them to engage in gang
to fulfill their emotional needs while at the same time vulnerable to the temptation of
making money, the freedom and respect that comes with it. There are several positive and
successful programs that are put in place in which involves the help and deterrence of
youth from engaging into gangs. Such task of helping out the youth and future
generations takes time and commitment. Possible solutions of getting involved in helping
the youth that are in the gangs to get them off the streets are implementing the same gang
model that they already know in which involves the commitment of one to another as
members of a close knitted family but without the drugs and violence. With the ideas and
belief that they have already known would be easier to implement and develop programs
that they are familiar to. Such programs should instill the same love, respect, and

Harriet Tubman Research Paper
Harriet Tubman Explanatory Harriet Tubman was an extraordinary heroine. Harriet was a
former slave who ran away in hopes to gain freedom in the northern states and Canada.
After Harriet made her first trip alone to Philadelphia, she devoted her life to returning
south and leading other slaves into Philadelphia, and later Canada due to the Fugitive
Slave Act. Harriet Tubman in her lifetime liberated over three hundred slaves, with her
largest group of eleven slaves. As you will soon see, Harriet Tubman is a famous heroine
in history who did extraordinary acts of generosity. Harriet Ross was born a slave in
Dorchester County, Maryland. She worked all day along with her family under Master
Edward. One day while working on the plantation, her sister Tilly was sold to another
plantation, leaving Harriet and her family behind. Master Edward believed Harriet and
her family wanted to run away and hired slave overseers to watch them at all times;

Global Warming and Climate Change Essay
Global Warming, much of what does or does not happen forty years from now rests on
our actions or inactions taken between now and then. The crucial question is whether we
should pour all our resources into mitigation reducing our carbon emissions. According
to scientists who study the climate there are other environmental problems; we now face
a global crises in land use and agriculture that could undermine the health, security, and
sustainability of our civilization .
Rather than worry too much about emissions, we should accept the world is going to get
warmer anyway and adapt to global warming by building better flood defenses and
developing drought resistant crops.

It was the strongest in 32 years. Then the wettest fifteen days in Iowa history began on
May 29. Global food prices soared as farm fields in America s top state producer of corn
and soybeans wash away. Leaving two million acres of the most effective farmland in the
country wounded in such a way as to impair its usefulness. Impacting a thriving
agricultural economy.
In 2009 alone, drought cost farmers $14 billion worldwide. Eighty five percent of the
U.S. corn crop is affected by drought stress at some time during the growing season each
year, and just four days of severe drought stress during the peak of summer can cut yields
in half.
If this isn t enough, we must also address the massive environmental impacts of our
current agricultural practices, which new evidence indicates rival the impacts of climate
change. Consider the following: ecosystem degradation, fresh water decline, and
widespread pollution. So, what are the solutions to the global crisis?
First we must understand the unsettling challenge of nearly doubling agriculture
production to meet the demands of the estimated 9 billion people expected by 2050.
Success in this undertaking will require new and sustained levels of innovation, such as
improvements in drought tolerance, to increase productivity of the global food supply
without increasing the stress upon our natural resources of the environment.

The first stage is the reflection of basic reality which suggests that the representation
refers to a deeper meaning or reflecting the meaning of the original, in this case it is the
original photograph taken, figure 1, by Alberto Korda (Baudrillard 1988: 170). The
second stage is the masking and perversion of basic reality, meaning that the image itself
has become a transformation of the image in itself, figure 2, Jim Fitzpatrick s represented
image of Che Guevara (Baudrillard 1988: 170). The third stage is the masking of the
absence of basic reality, meaning that the image has taken on its own transformation, thus
moving away from the original concept, for example the mass produced T shirt or mugs
with the image of Che Guevara. The third stage does not grasp the reality it belongs to
and Baudrillard (1988: 170) refers to this stage as the simulation. The fourth and the last
stage of Baudrillard orders of simulacra is the final stage of simulation, this is the stage
that the image has become too distant from its origin and that it bears no resemblance to
the original and has become a new reality or Hyper Reality (Baudrillard 1988: 170). The
fourth stage can be noted in figure 3, where each meme of Che Guevara has its own

Cause And Effect Of Social Media Essay
EFFECTS OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES
Social networking sites such as Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, Pinterest, and LinkedIn are
at the forefront of societal communication. These sites offer the ability to connect and
stay connected to family and old friends, provide much sought after networking and
marketing opportunities in the business community and may aid in the classroom which
is why they are popularly viewed as a positive communication and learning tool. The
onset of social networking may have been one of the most considerable additions to our
daily lives in the past decade , but social media is altering the terms of traditional human
contact. The impact of social networking sites undermine the fundamentals of academics,
social communication and even the overall health of the members of our society.
In some cases the level of education that students are offered remains the same, but the
level at which students retain this information has changed. Social media and the
compulsion to multitask have combined to make it harder than ever for today s students
to buckle down and pay attention. A recent study asked 1508 students how much time
they spent on their social media sites, 1486 of the respondents representing 98.4% spent
between thirty minutes to three hours on social media. (Archeaw) Because students
spend so much time engrossed in media, they spend less time doing homework, attending
class, and their ability to concentrate on the task at hand gets significantly reduced.

ideas? In my opinion the way to get other to accept your ideas is you have to be a
person of integrity, this is the first and foremost key to being able to have others accept
your ideas. Once you have respect with others your words will have meaning and people
will accept your ideas, doesn t mean they may agree with them but they can at least
respect them. 2. Are you more effective in a group or a one on one basis? In my
opinion the key to being an effective leader is knowing how to be effective in both,
whether you are working in a group or if you are working one on one. It takes different
strategies to work in either situation. My personal strength is working one on one; I am
passionate about seeing others grow beyond what they think they are cable of doing.
There should be no greater joy then seeing someone you have mentored or an employee
you have coached move up in their career, that is the key to being a good leader help

Keliang Zhoub, Neville R. Watsonb, Alan Woodb a Electrical Engineering Department,

Engineering Department University of Canterbury, Christchurch, New Zealand. Abstract
Grid connected inverters (GCI) are widely used to feed power from renewable energy
distributed generators into smarter grids. Repetitive control (RC) enables such inverters
to inject high quality fundamental frequency sinusoidal currents into the grid. However,
digital RC which can get approximately no tracking error of any periodic signal in steady
state whose period is known, cannot exactly track or reject periodic signal of frequency
variations. Thus digital RC would lead to a significant power quality degradation of GCIs
when grid frequency varies and causes periodic signal with non integer periods. In this
research paper a repetitive control scheme capable of frequency adaptation (FARC) at a
predefined sampling rate is proposed to deal with all types of periodic signal of variable
frequency. A fractional delay filter which is based on Lagrange interpolation is used to
estimate the fractional period terms in RC. This proposed FARC controller offers the fast
during process modification of fractional delay and fast revise of filter parameters, and
then provides GCIs with a simple but very accurate existent time frequency adaptive

Eighteen states and the District of Columbia were exempt from the 5 day wait since they
already had gun delaying measures in place.
These states and D.C. account for 63% of all violent crimes; including 58% of all

murders and violent crimes than any other state. New York which is also exempt due to a
licensing law has the second greatest number of murders and other violent crimes.10
Since the bill was enacted, only 22 states are subject to the 5 day wait. The Brady bill

stopping crime, it only serves to delay one s constitutional right to possess a handgun.
The Brady Act infringes one s right to own a firearm according to the Second

Hence, it gives equality in any decision made so after the hearing is adjourned, come

the recent proposal for reform in the admission of expert evidence, The Law Commission
for England and Wales observed that the the common law approach to the admissibility
of expert opinion evidence is one of laissez faire, with such evidence being admitted
without sufficient regard to whether or not it is sufficiently reliable to be considered by a
jury (Akers, 2000). According to the Commission, this approach is unsatisfactory and
recommended that the admissibility of expert evidence should be considered in the

who is called upon as an expert witness is skilled, experienced and qualified to give such

To What Extent Does America Live Up To Its Ideal Of...
Immigrants. America accepts about 1.5 million immigrants per year, creating 13.3% of
our nation s total population. Not surprisingly, these increase of immigrants is a good
thing, with open arms we allowed the immigrants to have a better life than what they had
before. Albert Einstein, a well known Physicist, emigrated to the US around the 1930 s
from Germany after being a targeted by the Nazi s. If America did not welcome Einstein
into our Nation, he would have been killed and not be known as well as he is today. Yet
there is two sides to this situation, America does live up to its ideal of opportunity for all
or America does not live up to its ideal of opportunity for all . I believe America does live

A reason to support is, Americans are not allowing immigrants because of their social
and economic status. In document 3, a political cartoon, shows 5 wealthy men stopping
another man (an immigrant) on a boardwalk who looks fairly poor from entering past the
entrance. This proves that how is America live up to its ideal of opportunity for all if
natives to America are holding prejudice toward new coming immigrants and not giving
the opportunity to enter? However to refute, America is giving immigrants jobs to
support themselves economically and socially, leading them to more power than assumed
to be. For instance in document 6 it says, My parents have found work and are able to
provide the basic need s we did not have in Liberia or Sierra Leone. We have
food, clothes and beds to sleep in. Most importantly we are safe. This portrays how
America gave this immigrant family an opportunity to be happy and be better than they
have ever before. They gave them an opportunity to support their family. They gave them
an opportunity to actually have a place to call home.Lastly, America gave them the
opportunity to

What is autorotation?
Autorotation is a condition where the main rotor is allowed to spin faster than the engine
driving it. How is that achieved? It is actually quite simple.
All helicopters are fitted with a free wheeling unit between the engine and the main rotor,
usually in the transmission. This free wheeling unit can come in different forms but one
of the most popular is the sprag clutch. The free wheeling unit will allow the engine to
drive the rotors but not allow the rotors to turn the engine. When the engine/s fail the
main rotor will still have a considerable amount of inertia and will still want to turn under
its own force and through the aerodynamic force of the air through which it is flying. The
free wheeling unit is designed in such a way to allow the main rotor to now rotate of its
own free will regardless of engine speed. This principle is the same reason that if you are
in your car and you push your clutch in, or put it into neutral while the car is still moving,
the car will coast along under it s own force. This occurs regardless of what you do to the
accelerator pedal.
Controlled Descent ? The next question you are probably asking yourself is: Does the
pilot retain control of the helicopter? The answer is yes. The pilot will still have complete
control of his descent and his flight controls. The majority of helicopters are

The Great Northwoods Essay
The Great Northwoods
As with all things, the history of an event does not begin at its conception. With this in
mind, it is my intention to provide the reader with a general history of events that led to
the formation of the Nicolet National Forest of northern Wisconsin. In order to do so, I
found it necessary to begin with the early explorations of such notables as James Cartier,
Samuel de Champlain, and Jean Nicolet. These French explorers blazed a path that
enabled the settling of the territories now know as Wisconsin. Men like them embodied
the new era of exploration that was gripping the European nations with the quest for
empire, trade, and the advancement of Christianity, leading the way. In addition, attention

With the failure of agriculture to take a firm hold, the conservation movement led the
government to purchase large tracts of land in an effort to save what little was left of the
great forests of Wisconsin. Fires had become rampant within the region, lives were being
lost, and the government became determined to correct the situation. I have determined
that the end point of my discussion will be the years leading up to World War II. For
while the Great Depression brought about untold suffering for many, it was actually the
giver of life for the Nicolet National Forest. People needed work, and the government
was searching for ways to put them to work. Forming and nurturing the growth of a
National Forest was the ideal answer for thousands. The years immediately proceeding
World War II brought back economic security for many, and left a legacy of many
industrial accomplishments as well as non industrial accomplishments such as the
Nicolet National Forest. In conclusion, the manner that I have chosen to write this paper
was presented to me by my sources. Of the few sources that I was able to garner dealing
solely with the Nicolet National Forest, each followed the same general outline. And,
since importance was stressed upon these areas already by established historians, I felt
that it should not be ignored.
The first major exploration that bears particular relevance to the Nicolet National Forest
begins with the exploits of James
Four Components Of Total Quality Management
Quality management ensures that an organization, product or service is consistent. It has
four main components: quality planning, quality assurance, quality control and quality
improvement. It does not only focus on product and service quality, but also on the
means to achieve it. Quality management uses quality assurance and control of processes
as well as products to achieve more consistent quality.
The dynamic changes taking place in the retail market are resulting in a less space for
retailers to differentiate in terms of product assortment, prices and quality since they all
offer the same and opening more space for them to differentiate in terms of service
excellence.
The success of the business is now more related to quality improvement. In retail, quality

The multi perspectives can be an advantage for organizations as depending on a single
definition might lead to problems.
Today, TQM concept is the most comprehensive, it has emerged into the main stream of
organizations and became a function like any other activity like marketing or
commercial.
Total Quality management
TQM is a management philosophy that seeks to integrate all organizational functions, it
starts with identifying who are our customers and what are their requirements.
Every function within an organization has a group of customers who have needs and
requirements. The focus on the relationship between customers and suppliers plays an
important role when attempting to improve quality. TQM starts by forming a link
between the external customers needs, internal customer supplier relationship and
necessities then continues to the external suppliers.
Implementing TQM requires an assessment of the organization s current reality. The
following, intends to shed light on the current situation of TSC.

The Discover of Biotin or Vitamin H Essay
Biotin has been discovered in many similar ways which is in fact the reason as to why no
one person can take the full accreditation to its discovery. Biotin is occasionally referred
to as Vitamin H or vitamin B7 (Challem, 2008) , but it was not fully perceived until the
1900s. W. Bateman was a primary researcher in the discovery of the vitamin and made
the most notable contributions to the findings of biotin. An additional discoverer was a
scientist by the name of Fitz Kogl and Paul Gyrory. The two of them came together and
created the name biotin.
The obvious primary sources of biotin in the human diet are meats, such as the kidneys
and liver. Additional sources are cheese, mushrooms, egg yolks, oats, soy, buts, milk and
wheat. Biotin ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...
The recommended amount of of biotin is 30 mcg a day. Biotin is one of the safest
supplements and has even been given to people in doses of 200 mg. The adequate
amounts for digestion from different ages vary. Infants aging from age 0 to twelve
months are recommended to take only 7 micro grams daily. Children from the ages of
one to three years, take eight micro grams. Children from the ages of four to eight are
recommended to take twelve micro grams, children between the ages of nine to thirteen
can take twenty micro grams daily, teenagers aging from fourteen to eight are instructed
to take twenty five micro grams, adults over the age of eighteen and women who are
pregnant are advised to take thirty micro grams a day and women who are breast feeding
are instructed to take thirty five micro grams of biotin daily.
Although Biotin is a water soluble vitamin that is a vital component of the four primary
carboxylase enzymes that scientist see in humans. In Japan there was a formula that did
not contain sufficient amounts of biotin for infants. From seeing this, researchers then
decided to take their study and practice on mice and see how they react to the formula
that showed that the infants were lacking biotin from this ketogenic formula. Therefore,
the aim of this study was to evaluate the effects of the ketogenic diet on biotin status in
mice. Methods: Male mice (N = 32) were divided into the following groups: control diet

The word meme was coined in 1976 by biologist Richard Dawkins in his book The
Selfish Gene. The word is meant to describe something that is transmitted in any way
other than genetically. According to Dawkins, the word meme isn t necessarily intended
to be used exclusively for scientific purposes. Examples of memes, Dawkins writes, are
tunes, ideas, catch phrases, clothes, fashions, ways of making pots or of building arches.
Just as genes propagate themselves in the gene pool by leaping from body to body via
sperms or eggs, so memes propagate themselves in the meme pool by leaping from brain
to brain via a process which, in the broad sense, can be called imitation. Perhaps, if
Dawkins book had been published after the advent of the internet, he would have
mentioned the internet as a place for information to travel in the form of memes. In 1996,
Richard Brodie, a contemporary of Dawkins further expanded Dawkins definition in his
book Virus of the Mind: The New Science of the Meme. Brodie s succinct definition
states: A meme is an idea, the kind of complex idea that forms itself into a distinct
memorable unit. It is spread by vehicles that are physical manifestations of the meme. As
the internet was still in its infantile stage, it s unlikely that Brodie knew what the idea of
a meme would become, yet his expanded definition of the meme better

Overlapping Stories of Osiris and Jesus Essay
This is a comparative essay of Osiris and Jesus. In this essay I will compare the two
stories on 8 points that I found kind of overlap on one another. It should be pointed out
that the Egyptian myth came around more than 2000 years before Jesus was even said to
be born. The first topic is the Birth of the two Gods and the signs given as to when they
came. When Osiris was born To Geb the Egyptian Earth God and Nut the Sky goddess a
voice came to Pamyles to spread the good word and Pamyles attended him for life. When
Jesus was born in Jerusalem he was born of the Virgin Mary and of the father Joseph.

The Pharisee s plotted to get Jesus killed because of what he taught and how it affected
the church controlled state. While Osiris did not have jealous outsiders, the jealousy that
would eventually kill him was within his own family, his brother Seth who wanted the
crown and Isis his wife for his very own. Both Jesus and Osiris had a last supper or Feast
. Osiris had one with his family when he returned from his travels. Seth and 72
coconspirators tricked him and locked him in a coffin and threw it into the Nile. Jesus
had a last supper with his 12 disciples taking bread and wine and giving Christians the
tradition of communion. After the last supper Jesus went to the gardens to pray and was
betrayed by Judas and given to the Roman soldiers, like Osiris was betrayed by his
brother Seth as Jesus s disciples were like his family. The next point is that both died of
wood. Jesus died on a wooden cross after he was beaten and tortured by the roman
soldiers. Osiris died of wood also in his story his coffin floats down the Nile until it got
stuck on a great tree and was encased by the tree. The tree was then cut down by a used
as a great pillar in a palace. The annual flooding of the Nile is supposed to represent this
story as the flood come from the tears after Osiris died much the same way Christians
follow the Easter Story every year. In Jesus s story after he died on the cross he was
taken down and buried

Throughout the movie there are a lot of differences from the greek myths. Some being
who he was, some being who his parents truly were, or even what choices he made and
the consequences that went with those choices. Hercules wasn t a hero as they portray
him just like Hera is NOT a loving mother like they show in the disney film Hercules

Zeus and his step mother Hera. First of all, Hera is his real mother and a loving one at

Fly Fishing History
Imagine sitting on a dock at a nearby pond, fishing and it is peaceful and quiet when all
of sudden a fish bites the hook! Fishing is all about waiting patiently for the right fish,
having the right equipment, and knowing what a person wants to catch; fishing is more
than a way to survive, it has now grown into a lucrative sport, and become a big hobby
for many people around the world. Fishing is a sport that all started with a stick, line, a
hook, and a bait. The whole goal of fishing is to catch a fish, either fresh or saltwater.
The sport is also called angling, but since it has increased around the world, it has been
changed to fishing. The development of fishing equipment has gradually increased
throughout the years. Equipment used to be just a stick or a bush vine, a string, and a
piece of bone, or a hook (Aggarwal). Now, the equipment is more technologically

The main purpose of fly fishing is to get the fish to bite and imitation of a bug. There are
many techniques for fly fishing, to fit the weather conditions such as the haul cast for it is
windy. Bait fishing is also called bottom fishing, which is to catch fish purposely by
using a type of bait such as worms, crickets, and even small fish. Some of the techniques
for bait fishing are bottom rigging, jugging, and the most common is with a cork (RBFF).
Trolling is the use of live bait and artificial lures that are left in the water behind a slow
moving boat. Netting is a setline that traps the fish. Netting is mostly used in commercial
fishing and catching baitfish. The object of noodling is to catch only catfish, with out a
rod and a line, and use only a person s hands, or feet. Noodling is mostly done in shallow
waters. Ice fishing is normally done in the colder states. When someone goes ice fishing
they would need many tools to break through the ice

including the Newbery Honor book in 1998. Ella enchanted, the Disney movie version

She meant to bestow a gift (3). When Lucinda cursed Ella, she thought that giving Ella
full obedience would be a gift, not thinking that this may affect her life and give people
around her the chance to take advantage of her. Olive and Hattie are Ella s stepsisters.
Hattie is the one who was able to discover Ella s curse. In the book, Hattie enjoyed
commanding Ella. Ella gave Hattie her precious necklace afterwards, Hattie commanded
Ella to not be friends with Areida. Throughout the book and the movie, Hattie and Olive
are always jealous of Ella s beauty and of how well mannered she is and yet they wanted
to be friends with Ella. The reader will think how Hattie and Olive could be Ella s friends
after taking advantage of her. In the book, Hattie said Ella, you should give it to me. It
would be a token of our friendship. (37). Prince Charmont comes in both works as a
young leader who was destined to inherit the throne of the kingdom. When Prince
Charmont met Ella, he fell in love with her humor and her personality not knowing what
she had as a curse. The book reviewer, Nancy Thackaberry from VOYA, stated that the
characters personalities and motives are comically crystal clear, but never boring . She is
saying that there is no real changing in the characters in the book, but it s not boring
because the romance and the fantasy that is presented in the book will keep the reader
wanting to read more. When it comes to comparing both works,

Shogun: The Life and Accomplishments of Tokugawa Ieyasu Ieyasu s early life was not
one that went smoothly. He was born in a castle in the Okazaki Castle Mikawa to his
parents, Matsudaira Hirotada and Odai no kata, or Lady Odai. He lived from 1543 to
1616. Ieyasu was born for greatness from the beginning. His father was the daimyo,
meaning powerful ruler, of Mikawa and his mother Odai nokata was the daughter of a
nearby samurai lord. Ieyasu s mother and father were step siblings and had him at a very
young age. They separated shortly after his birth due to his mother being sent back to her
family. After a few years both Lady Odai, and Hirotada remarried and had children
giving Tokugawa eleven half siblings total. Most of Ieyasu s childhood and young adult
years were spent in and around danger due to wars that resulted over his family splitting
to pursue different clans. He was constantly drawn into battle during these disputes. At
five years old he was taken hostage by the leader of the Oda clan who opposed his father.
He was then used as a bargaining chip for the clan so they could squeeze as much out of
Ieyasu s father as they could. Their main request was that he sever all ties with the
Imagawa clan or they would kill Ieyasu. ... Show more content on HelpWriting.net ...
Doing this could have resulted in the assassination of Ieyasu and the annihilation of the
Tokugawa. Tokugawa took the Oda stronghold of Owari and then Hideyoshi responded
by throwing his own army into Owari. This was the only time that any of the great
shoguns in Japan fought each other. The battle was referred to as the Komaki Campaign.
The campaign finally ended after everybody came to a peace agreement. The agreement
was that Ieyasu s second son was to become to adopted son of Hideyoshi. A few of
Ieyasu s supporters followed his son s relocation to the Hideyoshi clan as
