Clarifying Kame

Kame: a steep-sided mound of sand and gravel deposited by a melting glacier,


for instance at the end of an internal glacier stream.

Kame terrace: a flat-topped mound or hill composed of sorted sand and


gravel deposited by meltwater at the side of a valley; these deposits and the
meltwater can also flatten out existing lateral moraine at the side of a valley.
