References from Hadith

۞ Ibn ‘Abbas (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:


Messenger of Allah (‫ )ﷺ‬said, “Do not drink in one gulp like a camel, but in two or three
(gulps). Mention the Name of Allah (i.e., say Bismillah) when you start drinking and praise
Him (i.e., say Al-hamdu lillah) after you have finished (drinking).”[At- Tirmidhi].

۞ Narrated Abu Huraira (r.a):


The Prophet (‫ )ﷺ‬forbade the drinking of water directly from the mouth of a water skin .
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Drinks, Book 74, Hadith 54)

۞ Narrated Abu Huraira (r.a):


Allah’s Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said, “One should not prevent others from watering their animals
with the surplus of his water in order to prevent them from benefiting by the surplus of
grass.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book 90, Hadith 9)

۞ Narrated Abu Huraira (r.a):


Allah’s Messenger (‫ )ﷺ‬said, “Do not withhold the superfluous water, for that will
prevent people from grazing their cattle.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari, Book of Distribution of Water, Book 42, Hadith 3)

۞ Hazrat’Aishah (r.a) narrated:


“We, the family of Muhammad (‫)ﷺ‬, would go for a month without kindling a fire,
having only water and dates.”
(Jami` at-Tirmidhi, Vol. 4, Book 11, Hadith 2471, Grade: Sahih by Darussalam)
