Purpose
This document explains how to configure BIOS settings for COMMANDbatch
PCs that use the Advantech PCA-6782N RTC.

Audience
This guide should only be used by Command Alkon installation and service
personnel, or plant/management personnel specifically authorized to
configure COMMANDbatch.

 BIOS Setup
Initialization
Power up the ARK-6322 RTC and press <Delete> during the boot process to
enter the BIOS Setup utility.
1. From the Exit menu tab, press <F8> to load the failsafe defaults.
2. Select “Save Changes and Exit” then press <Enter> twice to accept the
changes. This will reboot the system.
3. Reenter BIOS Setup and continue with “Advanced Settings Tab” below.

Advanced Settings Tab

1. Select the “Configure advance CPU settings” menu item and make the
following change:
a. Disable Hyper Threading Technology.
b. Press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.
2. Select the “Super IO Chipset” menu item and make the following
change:
a. Disable the On-Board Floppy Controller.
b. Press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.
3. Select the “APM Configuration” menu item and make the following
change:
a. Disable the On-Board Floppy Controller.
b. Press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.
4. Select the “USB Configuration” menu item and make the following
change:
a. Disable Legacy USB Support.
b. Press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.

PCI/PnP Tab
Enable PCI IDE BusMaster.

Chipset Tab
1. Select the South Bridge menu item and make the following change:
a. Disable USB Functinos.
b. Disable USB 2.0 Controller.
c. Press <Esc> to return to the previous menu.

Exit Tab
Select “Save Changes and Exit” and press <Enter.

 Other Information
• The correct driver for this card is Net.rtl8169.
• This CPU card uses Compact Flash media containing the image
“26265_425S_628E07.img” found in the M:\Spectrum Releases\Logistics
Burn\Advantech PCA-6782 folder.
