1. What are the factors other than price that Betapharm considers to
be important for its procurement process?
- The first item that Betapharm checked is the total cost, however
they were looking for other factors like suppliers characteristics,
properties quality and cost.
Also suppliers were encouraged to create innovative offers, this
allows to evaluate actual and future demand.

2. What are benefits and risks of using auctions for sourcing the malic
acid?
- Benefits : Betapharm is working with just one supplier, this
allows them to have a strategic and trusted partner. In addition
to ensuring the amount needed to produce the predicted
demand
Risks: Finding new suppliers could annoy the current supplier
and the possibility of running out of your only provider is high.
For this reason it is important to keep the recruitment process as
secret as possible.

3. Why could auctions be a good approach for sourcing hotel rooms?

- The current policy of reservation of rooms gives the employee the
possibility of choosing the room he wants. This is very expensive
since the employee usually chooses rooms according to their
needs. Using the auction could allow the company to select the
rooms with the necessary requirements reducing costs
considerably.
