Anthropology Field Expedition
Everyone gathered on the campus grounds waiting on the bus to take us on our very
first archaeological field expedition. I ll be the first to admit I m something of a loner,
my only contacts with my fellow classmates was the occasional salutation of Good
Moring when entering a classroom but only if someone beat me to the room.
Normally I m the first person there because I like sitting at the back of the classroom
and those are normally the first seats to go. Imagine our surprise when we found out
that we wouldn t be staying at a lodge. We would be out in the wilderness, using flimsy
old cloth tents. We were told to sign a waiver, should any freak accident occur on the trip
the university would not be liable.
We would be treated like adults, we could do whatever we like during our spare time.
Very few tents so the eighteen of us would have to share and it would be three to a tent.
Only our professor got his own tent. My class had only two guys in it and the girls
were very clingy and cliquish. As a transfer student I knew no one, didn t have the
familiarity the others did of knowing each other and growing up in the same
neighborhood. As the antisocial one I ended with the two guys. I could tell the guys
knew each other before coming on the trip because they had that brotherly love, all
jokes and comradery. At first I was freaked out about having to share a tent with guys I
barely knew but the outgoing nature of the two made me feel comfortable and not
excluded. We were the
Taoism In Chinese Culture
For Chinese people, the importance of family, the institution which has patterned the
entire social matrix, can hardly be overestimated(Lin TY., Lin MC. ) . The family is a
cherished aspect of Chinese culture, playing a role in almost every piece of a person s
life. Families are involved with everything from behaviors to relationships. It is common
for children to cohabitate with their parent until they marry and in some cases even after
marriage. In the Chinese culture, it is believed that the bigger the family the more
prestigious the household. The traditional family structure, there are usually includes two
or more generations living under one roof. Due to the influence of Confucianism in the
Chinese culture, most parents have a male... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the Confucianism period, women were expected to respond to the wishes and
need of their closely related male relatives. The mixture of the time period and the rise
of Confucianism created a social hierarchy where women were the bottom. Women
had to obey their husbands and grown sons, many of them didn t even have names.
Being born male in this time period meant you had authority and power. There have
been drastic changes to gender roles moving forward. Moving onward women were
given just as much freedom as men. In this modern age, women are on the same level
as men with the few injustices such as making less than men or women being expected
to be housewives. Men have gone from having all the power to having to share, from
being the heads of their families where they had absolute power to sharing the role of
provider and homemaker.
Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) remain the most ancient yet living traditions.
There has been increased global interest in traditional medicine (Hindawi) . Chinese
medicine focuses on finding the exact cause of illness instead of just offering a solution.
Traditional Chinese medical practices forces on the balance of yin and yang within a
person and the five elements ( water, wood, fire, metal, and earth). Metal corresponds to
the lungs, wood to the liver, fire to the heart, water to the kidneys and earth to the spleen.
Among some of these healing practices, there

Dear Mr. Jorgensen,

My name is Mahmood Al badri. I am a junior in Aviation Management at the University

of Nebraska at Omaha, and I am applying for the position of Airport Duty Manager
(Operations) with your company as advertised on LinkedIn.

I am a student at the beginning of my career path, and I am really looking forward to

working in the airport in a position of my major. I took a 1 year management course at
Gulf College in Oman and completed a 1 year ILUNO English program; now, I am
getting Bachelor Degree in Aviation Management, which means that I possess the
knowledge required for performing the duties of Airport Duty Manager. I also took
training in customer service at the Oman Air at the Muscat International Airport, so I
have a brief working experience. My knowledge, dedication, and interest in the position
will contribute to the work of the airport, the safety of its operations, and the compliance
of all operations with the requirements for commercial service airports.

Morrie Mrie Symbolic Interactionism
The relationship of Morrie Schwartz and Mitch Albom demonstrates the Symbolic
Interactionism perspective in many ways. The SI perspective points out that when
people enter a situation, they already have a preconceived idea of what it will be like.
The SI perspective also explains how our definitions can change after we enter a situation.
This idea is evident with Mitch s situation at Brandeis University. When Mitch entered
college, he expected not much more than a typical student teacher relationship with his
sociologyprofessor. However, his idea of the situation changed after their first class
together, when Mitch told Morrie that he could call him by his name Mitch, because
that s what his friends called him. Morrie replied with, I hope that one day you will
think of me as your friend. From then on, Morrie and Mitch had a very special
relationship, one that Mitch would have never expected.
Another assumption that comes from symbolic interactionism is that people assign
meanings through social interactions, which is often referred to as meaning making. The
meaning of death and the meaning of materialistic items are two very significant
meanings that change over time for Morrie.
After Morrie s mother died, his life completely changed, and the concept of death had
a very negative meaning to Morrie. However, when Morrie is diagnosed with ALS,
the meaning of death drastically changes for him and Morrie is no longer scared of
dying. As long as we can love each other, and remember the feeling of love we had, we
can die without ever really going away. All the love you created is still there. All the
memories are still there. For Morrie, death now meant being around the people he loves
and spending time on things that are important in his life. This change in the meaning of
death consequently changed the meaning of many other things for Morrie, such as the
meaning of materialistic things. In fact, after his diagnosis, materialistic items had no
meaning now for Morrie. The meaning of materialism changes over time for Mitch as
well. At first, Mitch is always working, and money is a big part of his life. However,
throughout their Tuesdays together, Morrie taught Mitch that materialistic things are not
nearly as
A Prayer For Owen Meany Essay
During my junior year of high school, I read A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving.
Before then I had enjoyed reading, but it had never been more to me than a source of
entertainment, similar to watching TV. However, the ingenious, miniscule symbols
and nuances about the book forever changed the way I look at literature. Throughout
the book, Irving subtly compares Owen Meany (a tiny, strange boy with an extremely
high voice) to Jesus. At one point, he plays Jesus in a Christmas pageant. His parents
even believe (and try to convince him) that he was a virgin birth, much like Jesus was
according to the Bible. More subtly, his friend John Wheelwright frequently uses the
exclamation Jesus! but only when he is talking to Owen, almost as though he is
addressing him. Owen also plays the Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come in a play,
although he is just referred to as the Ghost of the Future. Later on he has a vision of his
own date of death. There are countless other important and significant symbols in the
book as well, ranging from an armadillo to... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Until I read Fight Club, most books had a very similar feel to read, so I never
understood why different people loved certain authors over others. However, Palahniuk s
writing was so distinctive and new to me that it perfectly illustrated the significance of
the author of a book. Fight Club is fast moving, disjointed, and confusing. The text is
seemingly randomly punctuated with obscure comments such as I am Jack s complete
lack of surprise. This method of writing mimics the frantic sense of confusion that the
reader endures before finally finding out that the narrator and Tyler Durden are the same
person. This way of writing, much like a well written movie music score, sets the scene
and mood for the entire novel in a way that is impossible to do with just descriptions and

Halagera also goes on to say A 2% increase in customer retention has the same effect on
profits as cutting costs by 10%. (Halagera, n.d.). This shows that keeping customers
returning to Kulder Foods will increase business. The Frequent Buyer Program will
promote repeat buisness in Kulder Foods and will aid in profit increase, so long as the
customer is satisfied with Kulder s Foods products and services. Although there are a lot
of upsides to the Frequent Shopper Program, there are also concerns that Kulder Foods
will have to take into account.
The overall cost for the Frequent Buyers Programs must be monitored consistently by
Kulder Foods. Kulder must ensure that redemption estimates are perceived higher to the
customer than actual cost to Kulder(MTI Market Techniques and Innovations Inc., n.d.).
As well as ensuring redemption is cost effective, Kulder will also have to make sure
points are realistic and appealing to customers. Customers must feel as if these points are
attainable, and easily usable. This will help keep customers interested and keep them
using the program.
Kulder Fine Foods will see increased profit with a Frequent Shoppers Program. It will
undoubtably help with repeat business and customer loyalty. To keep the Frequent
Shoppers Program running smoothly, Kulder will have to ensure that it stays up to date
with customers information and shopping data. Kulder Foods must also ensure they will
keep customers
