The Dramatic Effectiveness of Three Soliloquies in Romeo...
The Dramatic Effectiveness of Three Soliloquies in Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet was written in the early 19th century. The play was written at the
peak of William Shakespeare s work and is considered as one of his most poetic plays.
The choice of language is greatly varied and can be very emotional. It creates a great
atmosphere and a superb play.

During the play, Shakespeare uses many long and emotional speeches. These are called
soliloquies. These soliloquies communicate with the audience sometimes creating
dramatic irony. The long soliloquies also help to further the plot and they also include
emotions of the characters and information about them. The soliloquies also differ from

He compares the natural flowers to a feeding baby, then again explaining that all good
can turn to bad. The flowers can be a vital medicine, or can be a poison that could kill
that same person. This is emphasising on the fact that everything should be treated with
respect.

In this soliloquy, there is a great deal of emotion towards the flowers. Friar Lawrence
treasures them as they bring him lots of good. Romeo is on his way to Friar Lawrence
whilst Friar Lawrence is saying his soliloquy. Romeo wants to ask Friar Lawrence to
marry Romeo to Juliet. We soon find out that Friar Lawrence does marry them as he
thinks that it will stop the family from feuding. The audience are happy that Romeo and
Juliet are going to get married, but they are also scared in case they get caught.

The next soliloquy I am going to study is taken form Act 4, Scene 3. This scene takes
place in Juliet s bedroom. She has told her father that she is willing to marry Paris, but
through dramatic irony we know that she intends to fake her death and to be with
Romeo. A great del has happened before and leading up to Juliet s soliloquy. For
example, Romeo has been banished from Verona and Tybalt, Juliet s cousin is dead.
Friar Lawrence has planned to write a letter to Romeo explaining what is going to
happen and what Romeo has to do. Again though dramatic irony we know that this
The Government Should Support Wind Energy
Many researchers argue that the government should support wind energy. The Union of
Concerned Scientists (UCS) argues that wind energy reduces pollution. A 2009 UCS
analysis found that they could reduce pollution by lowering power plant carbon dioxide
emissions. A 25 percent national renewable electricity standard would lower power plant
carbon dioxide emissions 277 million metric tons annually by 2025 (para. 4). A study by
the United States Department of Energy s (DOE) National Renewable EnergyLaboratory
explored reducing pollution by generating 80 percent of the country s electricity
production could be reduced by approximately 81 percent by 2050. Wind powercan
reduce pollution generated by fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and gas. A typical 750 kW
wind turbineprovides enough power for 328 typical (non electric heating) homes.
Electricity production accounts for more than one third of U.S. global warming
emissions, with the majority generated by coal fired power plants, which produce
approximately 25 percent of total U.S. global warming emissions; natural gas fired
power plants produce 6 percent of total emissions. In contrast, global warming emissions
associated with renewable energy are minimal, according to data gathered by the
International Panel on Climate Change. Wind emits only 0.02 to 0.04 pounds of carbon
dioxide equivalent per kilowatt hour (CO2E/kWh). This is compared with natural gas,
which emits between 0.6 and 2 pounds of CO2E/kWh, and coal, which emits

Oil Dependency: Increase Research Funds America s dependency on foreign oil is
slowly crippling the average citizen s hard earned income with outrageous fluctuation
in gas prices. The American government seriously needs to step it in gear and start
taking action on possible supplemental energy sources to replace foreign oil and
actually begin providing those sources to the public without overpricing. Today s
foreign oil is polluting our air and crushing we as American s pockets. Rising U.S.
demand for imported oil accounts for more than a third of the U.S. ... Show more content

But with more money for further research into the problem, this could ultimately
become obsolete with the hybrid car. There are other means of possible future
solutions to our oil dependency, one being hydrogen fuel cars. This is my main
personal solution to oil energy. The process of retracting hydrogen from water to be
stored within a power cell is genius. This fuel cell is the power source for the car s
engine to run. Maker s of this cell are attempting to develop a hydrogen power center
than can be kept at the owner s residence for fuel fill ups. The idea is for water to be
pumped within this power center and then separate the hydrogen molecules to be stored
within a hydrogen cell. This greater hydrogen cell within the center would be able to be
pumped or drained into the car s power cell, ultimately creating an alternative fuel source
for motor vehicles. With good intentions, there are already some companies sponsoring
further research for this technology. The FreedomCAR and Fuel Partnership includes the
U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), United States Council for Automotive Research
(USCAR), whose members are DaimlerChrysler Corporation, Ford Motor Company and
General Motors Corporation; and five major energy companies. The government research
program supporting the partnership s goals is part of the administration s $1.7 billion

Globalization And Cosmopolitanism By Thomas Friedman
Globalization and Cosmopolitanism In current century, it has become way easier to
communicate with one another around the world because of the advancement in
technology, making it way easier for us to know what s going on around the world from
our couch with the help of the internet, which is known as globalization. Because of
globalization it has become easier to communicate with people which is what Kwame
Anthony Appiahemphasizes on making conversation and the primacy of practice .
Appiah also talks about another concept that is cosmopolitanismwhich means global
citizens of the world and how it may either bring people together or draw them apart
from one another. Appiah also emphasizes that making conversation doesn t
necessarily mean that it would reduce conflict, Thomas Friedman also agrees with
Appiah theory, which is No two countries that are both part of the same global supply
chain will ever fight as war as long as they are each part of that supply chain (Freidman
173). Does making conversation really solve any problem/conflict? What is
cosmopolitanism and does his concept really help apply to the world and how helpful
has it been in solving problems? Does meditating into different cultures solve any
problems? After 9/11 began a divide between us and them will that be solved? Being
connected to one another does that really solve problem much. Appiah mentions in the
interview that even though we may overcome these difference we are being
The Strait Of Hormuz Should Be Completely International...
In the past and present people and goods have and continue to move around the world.
Trade has been used to improve lives and countries all around the world. Passageways,
including the Strait of Hormuz, have been used or created to make trade more efficient
and cheaper. Waterways have helped militaries and aid groups create peace in regions.
The Strait of Hormuz is different than the Panama and Suez Canals. The Strait of Hormuz
should be completely international waters as it is economically important and a vital
military strategic point.
The Strait of Hormuz (also referred to as the Strait ) is located in the Persian Gulf region
in the Middle East. The Gulf of Oman leads into the Strait and through the Strait the

Throughout the Strait, its width and depth changes. At different points in the Strait, the
width varies from twenty one to fifty two nautical miles (thirty three to ninety six
kilometers) (globalsecurity). The lowest depth is twenty seven fathoms (fifty meters).
Due to the shallow depth of the Strait, oil tankers and cargo ships can only use certain
paths to sail through the Strait. Ships can only sail in a ten nautical mile wide section at
the narrowest point ( Strait of Hormuz , Briney). These factors limit the number of
shipping lanes, which then limits the number of ships able to pass each day.
In the past thousand years, several empires have controlled the Strait. The ancient Greeks
and later the Persian Empire used the Strait to conquer the modern day Gulf Region. The
island of Hormoz, which is controlled today by Iran, was the capital of the Kingdom of
Hormuz from the fourteenth to late sixteenth century. The name Hormuz is derived from
the Persian God Hormoz. In the early seventeenth century the Portuguese took control of
the Kingdom of Hormuz. The Strait of Hormuz was named after the city Hormuz on the
island of Hormoz (heritageinstitute).
During the different reigns of power, many different supplies, tools, and resources were
traded through the Strait. The Persians and ancient Greeks brought stone and styles of
architecture that shaped the later Kingdom of Hormuz. Traders from India and China
Leonardo Da Vinci And The Last Supper

Leonardo Da Vinci is most famous for the Mona Lisa and his countless inventions. He
was many things, an inventor, an artist and a scientist. Here, we are going to mostly talk
about his artist side(Although, personally i would rather write about his inventor side)
His two most commonly known paintings were Mona Lisa and The Last Supper . Two
wonderful pieces of art by an amazing artist. he was born on April 15 1452 in Vinci,
Italy, died May 2 1519. He heavily influenced the renaissance era and is still influencing
us today.
At an early age, Leonardo da Vinci moved to Florence, where he apprenticed with the
painter and sculptor Verrochio. Da Vinci s brilliance was obvious even at this early
stage in his life. He often experimented with different artistic forms and techniques.
Being surrounded by Italian art, he often used oils in his paintings . His work sparked
a new style of art in Italy. In 1481, at the age of 30, da Vinci moved to Milan to work
for the Duke of Milan. Although relatively few of da Vinci s paintings and sculptures
survive, two of his extant works are among the world s most well known and admired
paintings. The first is da Vinci s The Last Supper, painted during his time in Milan,
from about 1495 to 1498. A oil mural on plaster, The Last Supper was created for the city
s Monastery of Santa Maria delle Grazie. Also known as The Cenacle, this work
measures about 15 by 29 feet and is the artist s only surviving

What s Got You Weak in the Knees? A Look at the Dangers of Leg Weakness

You may not realize how little conscious thought walking or moving takes until you are
in a position where your lower body mobility is affected by a medical condition. Once
this happens it can make the smallest tasks seem much more difficult. Since movement is
at the core of everything you do throughout your day, difficulty in completing simple
tasks can take a toll on both your physical and mental well being. Lack of
maneuverability can have serious consequences leading to feelings of isolation,
depression, and/or anxiety. Recognizing symptoms, addressing them properly, and
implementing the use of aids in your day to day life could help to minimize the effects
and risks associated with lowered mobility.

What is Leg Weakness?

Leg weakness is an absence of muscular or physical strength in your legs accompanied
by the feeling that additional effort is required to produce movement. If this deficiency
is the result of pain, then when you make those lower body muscles work it will hurt.

Often times, when you are displaying a physical weakness which makes moving more
difficult to achieve it can result in fatigue. Fatigue is a feeling of exhaustion or tiredness
due to a lack of strength and/or energy.

Weakness and fatigue are both symptoms, and not considered diseases. They can be
caused by many other health issues, and can only be properly examined when paired with
other symptoms that are present. If you
