Interrogative Pronouns
Os pronomes interrogativos ou também “question words” são usados para
formar perguntas.
Int. Pron.: Who, what, when, where, why, whose, how, which, whom
Interrogative form of the verb
A forma interrogativa faz-se pondo o verbo principal ( main verb) antes do
pronome pessoal e colocar o ponto de interrogação no final da frase; ou
ainda, usando o verbo auxiliar “do”. :. Excepto para o verbo “to be”
Para:.I, you, we, they=> do; :.He, she, it=> does
I) Main verb+ Personal pron + noun+?
• I am a girl=> Am I a girl?
II) Auxiliar verb+ Personal pron+ main verb+ noun +?
• Do you like that girl?
Adverb of negation “not”
Usado para tornar a frase negativa.: She is not a girl.
Short form( Forma curta)
Usado para simplificar a frase.: Is+ not= isn’t , are+not= aren’t, do+ not=
don’t , does+ not= doesn’t.
Examples
Whom do you live with ? I live with…
Why it happened? It happens because…
I do not like you=> I don’t like you
She is not my friend=> She isn’t my friend
Do you not love me? => Don’t you love me?
