NTR191: Nutrition Counseling Skill Development

When I first read the title and the objectives of this chapter, I expected to study about the
first step of counseling. I am actually surprised that it was actually beyond than just the
counseling session. The chapter mostly analyzing us as the counselor and us as self first.
I have taken a communication and education skills for dietetic professional in the past.
But it has been few years and it is good to re fresh some of the new materials. Some of
the objective learnings from this chapter that really interest me are identifying factors of
how people choose their foods, describing characteristic of an effective counselor and
evaluate my strengths and weakness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
And I found out that taste preference and culture background are the factors which
influence me the most (Pg. 3 4). These factors are important to study, so it would be
easier by the time we have to make the nutrition intervention. We can adjust the
intervention based on the factors which influence them the most. So clients still can be
comfortable, even when they have to change their diets.
Knowing the characteristics of effective nutrition counselors are valuable for me. And I
believe that I have many of the qualifications. One thing that is really interesting about
the characteristics is to have a sense of humor. I was a little surprise, but agree. Besides
being professional at work, as a counselor we are human too. Humor helps to enrich the
relationship with clients and helping them not to focusing their problems too seriously
(Pg.6).
The chapters suggest that we as counselors have to be able to understand our self first,
that we have to be OK if we would like to help others in need. Then it came to a
perspective that many counselors sometime forget that it is the client s needs which need
to be fulfill, not them. This situation leads to dictatorial situation where the counselor
show too much power and influence over the clients problems and decision and forgot to
be open and actually listen to the clients

needs to follow to build a house correctly in South Dakota. Including, foundation, venting,
interior walls, and ceilings, exterior walls and roofs, etc. After reading my essay the

The most common home that is developed has either a gable roof or a hip roof. A gable
roof has a ridge in the center of the roof and slopes downwards in two directions. This
type is easy to develop and can be used for almost any type of building. Gable roofs
look like an A after constructed. Hip roofs are different than gable roofs. A hip roof
had four sides that go down in each direction connecting to the top of the
wall.(Constructionknowledge.com) Building a hip roof will use more materials and
increase time. When constructing the roof you wanna end in the center and start on
the top of the walls. When constructing the exterior part of the roof there are numerous
ways to do it. There s asphalt shingle, slate, metal roofing, and much more. Slate roofs
are individual smooth flat pieces that of rock that come in colors such as gray, red,
green, and more. Although slate roofs are very durable and fire resistant they are also
very expensive and heavy.(By Jeannie Matteucci, top 6 roofing materials) The most
commonly used exterior roofing method in North America is asphalt shingling. It is
an inexpensive and fairly easy to install method. There are two ways asphalt shingles are
made. Either an organic base or a fiber glass base. The organic base shingles are made
from recycled woods fragments or waste paper. This kind of shingle is more durable and
is extremely good. Also, it is better for the cold

concern, have shown that our country will require millions of IT professionals up to
2005. A study conducted NASSCOM also reveals that the demand of IT professionals
during 2005 be much more than the expected availability. The emerging IT enabled
service (ITES) segment has shown tremendous avenues of jobs for the IT
professionals. A study conducted NASSCOM (2002 2003) shows that the ITES sector
wills create job opportunities for over 1.1million people by 2008. It is worthwhile to
note that during the last 20 years, the IT industry s present trend reflects more than 20
times increases in ITES BP segment. In spite of USA s restrictions on outsourcing from
Indian market, it is felt that with globalization, the opening of economic fronts and
markets becoming more competitive, it will be non profitable for the USA companies
and business tycoons, if they restrict the outsourcing opportunities available from India.
As such more and more job opportunities will be further generated in IT and ITES
segment positively.

After the September 11th incident, the IT industry went through some difficulties, though
Indian IT field didn t feel the adverse effect as much as other developed countries, some
Indian youth went jobless albeit temporarily. The basic lesson that our country earn
Red Blood Cell Is An Essential Treatment For Patients With...
Red Blood Cell (RBC) transfusion is an essential treatment for patients with the Sickle
Cell Disease (SCD). Alloimmunization to RBC antigens has remained a challenge due to
the difference in antigen prevalence, such as in the case of people of African origin and
those of white descendent do not have a similar antigen prevalence. The presence of RH
heterogeneity leads to alteration of the representation of the Rh antigen on a patient s
RBC hence increasing chances of alloimmunization. To be able to counter this, methods
such as pre transfusion determination of extended Rh (CcEe) and K antigen phenotypes
and RBC phenotyping by hemagglutination have been attempted. RBC phenotyping by
hemagglutination has been the gold standard, but is labor intensive and hindered by
subjectivity in interpreting agglutination reactions and transcription errors when
manually transcribing results. Testing is also limited by lack of reagents for a number of
clinically significant antigens.
10 DNA based assays targeting single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) associated with
blood group antigen expression offer an alternative. 11 14 Genotyping method provide
information on RBC antigens for which standardized serologic typing reagents are not
available and are responsive to high throughput testing with computerized interpretation.
RBC antigen phenotypes determined by single nucleotide polymorphism analysis was
compared with serologic testing for 13 routinely tested RBC antigens. The frequency of

ACC307 INDIVIDUAL ASSIGNMENT TASK 1: Contemporary Issues of Accounting
Theory Fair Value Measurement Overview After the International Accounting
Standards Board (IASB) released the IFRS 13 Fair Value Measurement in May 2011
for the purpose of completing its joint project with the US Financial Accounting
Standards Board (FASB) on fair value, the Australian Accounting Standard Board
(AASB) released the Australian equivalent AASB 13 Fair Value Measurement in the
September of the same year. This standard permitted early adoption but generally
started to take effect for the financial reporting periods beginning from 1 January 2013.
This new standard requires no new requirement for the adoption and but it was
accompanied with the issuing of AASB 2011 8 Amendments to Australian Accounting
Standards arising from the AASB 13 which has made consequential changes to 32
standards and 9 interpretations for the adoption in Australia. The new standard
attempts to unify IFRS and US GAAP by specifying how entities should apply the fair
value measurements that applied in previous IFRS standards. It clarifies and redefines
fair value as the price that would be received to sell an asset or paid to transfer a
liability in an orderly transaction between market participants at the measurement date ,
sometimes referred to as an exit price . It also sets out a single source guidance for a
robust measurement framework to ensure that the requirements are applied consistently
and have clear
Examples Of Summarize Findings
Summarize Findings The most reactive substance in this lab was the crushed liver core,
it produced the most amount of heat, bubbles, and the biggest flame during the glowing
splint test. The manganese dioxide and the liver core were also very reactive and they
both produced a flame during the glowing splint test. Next, the potato core produced a
slight reaction, but it was not as extreme as the other substances. Finally, just the
hydrogen peroxide and the boiled liver core had no reaction and did not produce a flame
during the glowing splint test.

Sources of error A few sources of error may have occurred during this lab, one of the
main sources of error could have been mixing up which liver is which. This could

What effect would adding HCl or NaOH to the liver or potato have? Clearly explain
your reasoning. It would change the pH of the liver or potato as HCl is very acidic
and NaOH is very basic. Changes in pH can denature the protein in the enzymes which
could result in no reaction. For most enzymes, they require a very specific pH, so when
a solution becomes too acidic or too basic, no reaction can occur as the enzyme will
become denatured by the abrupt change in pH.

6. What effect would slightly cooling or heating the test tube have? Slightly cooling or
heating the test tube could also result in the proteins in the enzymes becoming denatured
by the changes in the temperature. Enzymes also require very specific temperatures to
function properly, so if the temperature changed too dramatically no reaction would
occur. If the change in temperature was not dramatic, it could just affect the rate of
reaction, so it might slow down the reaction, but the reaction would eventually occur.
