Discussion

Tableau is generally used for data visualisation. It allows the creation of an interactive and

shareable dashboard for its users. This AI tool supports data sharing without any extensive

programming skills. It also allows us to share insights into data. This popular data-sharing

software allows connecting with different data sources. There are several alternative options

available in the market like Microsoft Power BI, QlikView etc (Batt et al., 2020). However,

Tableau offers a wide range of features and different levels of data interpretation including

charts, graphs and maps. The unique features of Tableau help in making decisions related to

business. This is why this tool is also known as a business intelligence tool. Key features of

this intelligence software include data connectivity based on the cloud, which allows real-

time data extraction and connection. The intuitive interface feature of this tool helps in

making it easier to operate for the users with extensive coding, drag and drop facility and

dashboard interface. Tableau offers advanced visualisation so that it becomes earlier for the

operators to analyse complex data and customise it in a meaningful yet easier way

(Prokofieva, 2021). Data blending is another feature of Tableau that helps in blending data

from different sources and helps in creating a comprehensive report. This tool is responsive

towards mobiles and can be accessed through different devices like tablets or smartphones. A

few common uses of Tableau are creating interactive reports, exploring various data for

detailed insights, representing marketing analytics, and visualisation of patient data in the

healthcare industry.

Response 1

As far as I have researched it has been seen that Tableau is a very efficient and powerful tool

for business insights. Various operations of the business-like dashboard creation and sharing

it with others become much easier with this software. This tool is easier to operate and can be
accessed through different devices. It has been seen that this tool is widely accepted and

implemented in making business decisions due to its easily accessible policy. The meaningful

insights created using this tool are very effective in analysing the performance of the

company and understanding the market pattern.

Response 2

Despite of various usefulness this tool also has some drawbacks in terms of cost and

resources. It is relatively more expensive than the other business analytics tools. Therefore,

acquiring these tools can be a matter of challenge for greater organisations as they have to

pay more for their data. On the other hand, operating this tool in the initial stage is quite easy

but it takes a lot of patience and knowledge to master the higher-level features of this

software. Especially for new users it is not possible to handle a large database and master the

advanced features of this application. However, the choice of specific tool requirements

depends upon the specific needs of the organisation.
