The purpose of this mechanic is to represent the relationship between Herman Josef Abs (the

CEO of IG Farben and Deutsche Bank), and Pieter Heerema, CEO of the Nederlandsche Oost
Compagnie. At game start, Abs acts as a kind of sugar daddy for Heerema: the NOC is a
subsidiary company of IG Farben, and Abs is providing funds to allow Heerema to continue his
operations, taking on a part of the costs of business in return for a share of the profits. This is
the relationship that Abs wants to maintain; the status quo suits him perfectly well. Heerema, on
the other hand, wishes to escape Abs shadow and work together as more equal partners. It is
important to note that Heerema does not wish to be free of Abs altogether. That will be a
failstate for the mechanic, one that sends the player into a death spiral unless they take
immediate corrective action.

It must be made explicitly clear to the player that they want the bar to stay as close to the
middle as possible, or else Abs will pull out and leave them stranded in the middle of a
hostile, foreign land.
Explanation of Mockup:

The portraits of Abs and Heerema will be placed side to side. Heerema's should be different
from his base portrait, and if at all possible, should be facing towards abs

The progressbar underneath will represent the influence each company has. At game start, the
influence will heavily favor Abs and IG Farben.
There will be decisions (akin to some of Britain's mechanics) that will allow you to influence the
progressbar one way or the other. Alongside these decisions, narrative choices (done through
events and the focus tree) will allow you to influence the progressbar one way or the other.
