Neural Networks in Investments Essay example
Neural Networks in Investments

I. ABSTRACT

Investment managers often find themselves overwhelmed with the large amount of data
obtained from the financial markets. Most of the data available is numeric and noisy in
nature, making the decision making process harder. These decisions usually rely on the
integration of statistical measures that attempt to compress much of the data and
qualitative depictions such as graphs and bar charts with news events and other pertinent
information. Investment decisions usually involve non linear relationships among the
various components of the data. Computers in general, are very adept at dealing with
large amounts of numeric information. However, some algorithms are crucial in

At the simplest level, neural networks are a new way of analyzing data. The revolutionary
aspect of neural networks is their ability to learn and trace the complex patterns and
trends in data. Neural networks are made up of neurons and behave like the human
brain, and has the ability to apply knowledge from past experience to new problems.
Neural networks acquire this knowledge by training on a set of data. After the network
has been trained and validated, the model may be applied to data it has not seen
previously for prediction, classification, time series analysis or data segmentation.

Unlike traditional statistical methods, neural networks do not require assumptions about
the model form. A statistical analysis requires a certain form to be assumed such as
linearity, which characterizes relationships between variables. Neural networks are more
tolerant of imperfect data, such as the presence of missing values or other data quality
problems. Neural networks perform better than traditional statistical methods when the
model form is unknown or nonlinear, or when the problems are complex with highly
inter related relationships.

In a dynamic environment, neural networks are flexible tools and have the capacity to
learn rapidly and change quickly. As the data values and outcomes change, the model
quickly learns and adapts itself. Rule based systems

I was so exited that I wanted to celebrate but I didn t because we weren t winning yet.
As a result I took the ball out of the goal and took it to the middle of the field to
continue with the game. There was 5 minutes left before the referee blew his whistle
to indicate the end of the game. My team knew that we had a Great chance of winning
because in soccer it is often said that when a team scores a goal, the team that received
it will give a 5 minute window to score another goal. This motivated us more. However,
we knew that we had to defend well enough because we could also lose the game. Time
began to move fast. It wasn t until the minute 89th that the game changed. At that
moment I had the possession of the ball. I moved through the field still with the
possession of the ball. I saw that my teammate began to sprint towards goal so I gave
him a threw ball. He then shot the ball but the defender blocked his shot. The ball was
going towards me so I had it. I was 10 yards away from the goal but I didn t know what
to do with the ball. I heard a lot of people telling me all sorts of things but at the end I

Into The Wild Personal Response
Into the Wild a story that gave a life event and a deranged experience. I personally
believe no one would want to experience what Mcandless went through ever. Unless of
course they like to be lonely like sir and have freedom. like McCandless himself. Even
then I would still think people out in this world would not want to live what he went
through, So frightened to know you prefer being alone with no ones help. To come to
think that freedom does exist and you ll have it one day but, will you really?
McCandless was a tough soldier went through tough times but to him it was all an
experience and as far as we know might ve enjoyed every little moment he spent out in
the wild. I guess it is true when they say God gives his toughest wars to his toughest

We have a young and wild mentality that might lead us toward the wrong directions.
Which is why sometimes we have to think twice before we take action. In Chris s case
actions were not taking he took it for granted took his young early ages of life as they
would come back one day. Us as teens or young adults don t acknowledge the purpose
of life we take it for granted. It s crazy but almost nobody acknowledges the purpose of
life. Which is why I wonder , is it because we don t know the purpose or we just tend to
have fun within our lives. Sometimes that fun is out of control and isn t the right path.
Sometimes it leads to bad habits, bad reputation, or even worse death. Who wants death
to come knock at our door step for taking the wrong direction for not acknowledging
what life is really worth for thinking you re the big bright brain and anything anyone
says or does is not relevant. So I ask Is it worth it? Is it worth taking the wrong direction?
