The significance of Labor Code in the Philippines cannot be overemphasized due

to a number of reasons. Firstly, its importance emanates from the fact that it is the
embodiment of all laws that govern employment practices in the country. All the laws
concerning employees rights, welfare, social and health securities, Labor institutions et
cetera are provided for in the Labor Code. The Labor Code helps in achieving a stable
and dynamic social order. When all the players in employment such as employers,
employees and the government know their rights, obligations and the machineries
available for the settlement of disputes, there is going to be industrial peace and a
working environment that is likely to yield not only economic development but social and
political progress as well. The Labor Code has such an eminent part in the lives of the
employees and the employers as to command reverence and respect. The Labor Codes
significance is an all embracing term since every aspect of the employees and the
employers life are covered by the Labor Code.
I learned that the understanding of theoretical instructions is very important. First
of all, when the theoretical instructions are well understood, the learners are able to
identify how the theoretical instructions are applicable in the real world. Theoretical
instructions are designed to suit an ideal situation and may not be applicable to the real
world, except when modified to accommodate the real situation. Because real life
situations are dynamic in nature, it is important that the learners are able to understand
under what conditions the theoretical instructions can apply in the real world. Secondly,
the understanding of theoretical instructions can help to train the mind of the learners to
think critically. Critical thinking is a very important skill in the fast changing technological
world. Students are always faced with complex and challenging problems.
