Ushuaia Essay
USHUAIA AS A COMPLEMENTARY DESTINY OF ANTARCTICA The objective of
this work was to perform an analysis of the activities offered by tour operators, on the one
hand, in Antarctica and, on the other hand, in Ushuaia as a gateway, and to analyze how
the destination can be positioned as complementary destination of Antarctica. The
province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica and Southern Atlantic Islands is situated in the
southern tip of South America in Argentina, and comprises three different territorial
areas: the eastern sector of the large island of Tierra del Fuego and its adjacent islands,
the Atlantic islands: Southern Falkland Islands, Southern Georgia and Southern
Sandwich Islands, and the Argentine Antarctica which also includes the... Show more

Its name has a Yámana origin and means bay that penetrates towards the west. It is
located at the foot of the Martial Mountains, on the northern bank of the Beagle
Channel. Taking into account the preferences for new destinations away from the big
urban centers and the geopolitical conflicts as well as the need to get in touch with
nature in places little altered by man, Ushuaia has become an important point of
attraction in recent years. Touristically Ushuaia is part of the Patagonian corridor that
includes Puerto Madryn and El Calafate. Of the total number of tourists registered in
Ushuaia in the 2003 2004 season, 77% of the visitors were foreigners and only 23%
were locals. This is due to the large participation of considerable size cruise ships.
Ushuaia is included as a port of call in the route of large tourist cruises that make trips
around South America. In their routes the ports of the South Atlantic Ocean are united
with those of the South Pacific Ocean, crossing the Beagle Channel. Among the ports of
call we can mention Montevideo, Buenos Aires, Puerto Madryn, Falkland Islands,
Ushuaia, Punta Arenas, Puerto Montt and

McCarthy Trials
Cold War
The Cold War started after World War II around 1947.
The Cold War was an international power struggle between the capitalist United States
and its allies and the communist Soviet Union and its allies.
Both sides were competing for dominance and exploited every chance they could for
expansion.
The term cold was used to describe how America and the Soviet Union were not in direct
contact, however used client states to fight for their beliefs such as the incident in
Vietnam where the south was anti communist, supplied by the U.S. and the north was
pro communist supplied by communist Russia or China.
McCarthyism
The term McCarthy Trials is referring to Joseph McCarthy, which was an American
politician and senator.
McCarthy is mostly known for the second red scare in which he claimed that many
Communists and Soviet spies have infiltrated numerous places in the United States
including the federal government.
He also made a claim that he had a list of 205 State Department employees who were
members of the Communist Party and that communist spies were everywhere and
Communists were helping to shape the foreign policies because of this, and basically
that he was America s only hope.
He started by accusing low level officials and made his way up.
Fear was a large part of this as a fear of world domination by communists or nuclear
holocaust, especially because the Soviet Union exploded its first A Bomb in 1949 and
China became communist.

The Issue Of Transgender Women Essay
This day in age the word Transgender is one most people don t understand or know
about until now. Since it s came into the spot light of everything. The most recent
popular publication of this term is of that Caitlyn Jenner whom was formerly known as
Bruce Jenner. This change if I remember currently had happen in summer of 2015 and
Caitlyn Jenner was in a born after many years of hiding from the world. This isn t the
case for many others like Caitlyn instead of a welcoming publication for each and every
Transgenderperson. It s the opposite of just that and Transgender men/women face a
harsher world for being who they feel is the real man or womanthey are. Transgender
women in 2014 were murder as a result of violence against them the count that was
report was 12 in which this has only increase to 22 in 2015. An additional trans woman,
Mya Hall was killed by police in March. (Tourjee. 2015). Without knowing the true
number of cases like this are still unknown till this day.
The age rage among these women is under the age of 25yrs old the youngest being 17
yrs ago. They are broadly exposed to violence by the hands of boyfriend, clients, johns,
family members and police officers. Women like Mercedes Williamsons who
tragically die by the hands of 28 year old Josh Brandon Vallum are just one of many
who face ever day violence and death if the end result. Williamson s had talked about
Vallum often to her friends which I can only believe she considered him more then a
friend.
Gladiator, by Ridley Scott
Who doesn t love a movie where the protagonist is off on a quest for revenge in
numerous action sequences for his taste of sweet, sweet revenge? When breaking films
into this type of category, one film that stands out among the rest has to be Gladiator.
Gladiator can be argued as one of the greatest action movies of all time, and for good
reasons. The soundtrack, dialogue, and characters have no equal in the revenge action
category of film, and can be considered tops of pure action films. Gladiatoris a perfectly
well rounded movie that adds the best of all worlds to create the masterpiece seen
today. Ridley Scott s masterpiece, Gladiator, was released to the public in 2000.

The soundtrack has received critical acclaim from numerous reviews and was a best
seller, selling millions of copies of the soundtrack alone to anxious listeners. The songs
helped set the pace of the movie and made a good movie into an excellent movie. Some
of the favorite songs from the soundtrack include The Battle, Elysium, and the favorite
Now We Are Free. Mixing a combination of soft melodies and ballads, with battle
waltzes, the soundtrack covered all ground and provides future composers the
groundwork for future war epics. While Hans Zimmer gets most of the credit and praise
for Gladiator s score, he could not do it alone without Lisa Gerrard, who co composed
the score and provided the vocals. This soundtrack was so well received that it was
nominated for an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award for best score, and won a
Golden Globe for best original score. Compared to other action films, Gladiator is hard
to top. As a reviewer of the soundtrack, Roko Zaper, said Gladiator, By the very nature
of the film itself, the score to Gladiator is perhaps hard to grasp for some, but in it
Zimmer and Gerrard have created a score that transgresses its genre and brings the music
into an unforgettable arena, an Elysium of drama if you will. As Zaper said, Gladiator
separates and goes past any other action soundtrack. Gladiator s soundtrack
