Obedience To Authority Essay

Crafting an essay on the theme of obedience to authority can be both challenging and intellectually
stimulating. This topic delves into complex psychological and sociological dynamics, requiring a
thoughtful exploration of human behavior, power structures, and ethical considerations. The
difficulty arises not only from the need to present a coherent and well-structured argument but also
from the necessity to navigate through the extensive literature and research surrounding this subject.

Addressing obedience to authority involves delving into historical events, such as the Milgram
experiment, and exploring the ethical implications of blind conformity. It demands a critical analysis
of the factors that influence individuals to obey authority figures, even when it goes against their
own moral compass. Additionally, one must consider the broader societal implications of
unquestioning obedience, examining how it shapes social norms and structures.

Furthermore, writing on this topic requires a careful balance between presenting empirical evidence
and incorporating theoretical perspectives. Engaging with various academic disciplines, such as
psychology, sociology, and ethics, adds another layer of complexity. The essay should not only
convey a comprehensive understanding of the subject matter but also provide a unique perspective
or argument that contributes to the existing discourse.

In conclusion, tackling an essay on obedience to authority necessitates a deep dive into intricate
psychological and social phenomena, demanding analytical skills, critical thinking, and the ability to
synthesize information from diverse sources. While the process may be challenging, it offers an
opportunity for personal growth and a nuanced understanding of human behavior in societal contexts.

Descartes And Nietzsche s View On The Mind And Body...
I am thinking, therefore I exist (Discourse on Method 15)
In his Discourse on Method, Rene Descartes offers the above proposition, in response to
the radical doubt (Discourse on Method 15)This implies that, even the human ability to
doubt one s existence is proof that humans are thinking beings, and therefore must exist
in the universe, despite all else. Nietzsche has written in contrast to this statement,
discussing the contradictions and assumptions surrounding the proposition. Stemming
from this initial premise, both Descartes and Nietzsche go on to discuss the mind/body
problem. Descartes argues for the separation of mind and body, while Nietzsche offers
a premise based on a deep connection between the two. I seek to compare the writings
of both philosophers, and explore holes in judgment and scope on the part of Descartes,
and prove as to why Nietzsche s discussions are superior of the two.

Descartes discusses the existence of the human mind as a separate entity from the human
body, including the a passage confirming his own existence as nothing but a thinking
entity, in his writing Principles of Philosophy (I. 63 65). Following his rejection of all
knowledge, in order to divide what was false from what could be proven, Descartes
strives to prove the existence of his own mind, as a basis from which to prove the
existence of the rest of the universe. I think his premise is flawed, Through the concept of
doubt, he finds a contradiction (I am thinking about not
Computer Technology And Its Impact On The Business...
1. Introduction
Nowadays, it is almost impossible to find a company or organization which does not use
any kind of technology or information system to help run their operations and processes.
Computer technology has become extremely integrated in the business environment and
its benefits are very valuable. That is the reason why so many businesses decide to invest
in information systems. Mainly, it increases productivity the employees can focus on task
which requires human thinking and do not waste their time on collecting paperwork.
What is more, investing in information systems, even though it requires huge capital
expenditure, can reward generously in the future.

Then, they had to confirm the availability of seats, check the price and reserve the seats
if the customer was pleased with the offer. The huge disadvantage of this system was not
only its time consuming and complexity. Most importantly, it was impossible to get real
time view of the inventory since airlines couldn t synchronize data from multiple
locations more than once a day. What is more, human errors were frequent and lack of
security was common.

In 1953, C.R. Smith, president of American Airlines and R. Blair Smith, a senior sales
representative for International Business Machines Corporations met on American
Airlines flight from Los Angeles to New York. Their conversation about the travel
industry sparked an idea for a data processing system that could create and manage
airline seat reservations and instantly make that data available electronically to any travel
agent at any location. As a result, Semi Automated Business Research Environment was
born in 1964 and developed as a dual effort between those two companies. (Sabre®,

Domestic Violence As A Victim Of Domestic Abuse
Introduction Although we lost Ellen Pence, a woman who changed how domestic
violence is addressed, in 2012, there are many lives that are being saved to this day
because of her work. Ellen Pence found her calling in 1977 when she began working for
the Minneapolis Housing Authority that helped individuals relocate with housing
complications (StarTribune, 2010). It was then that she immersed herself through
domestic violencecases and set the standard for addressing these cases. Ellen Pence is
especially known for establishing the Duluth Program, a program that address batterers in
the court systems, and Praxis Training, which are training on addressing domestic
violencefor law enforcement, advocates, community agencies, and institutions. Pence s
35 years of service change the way domestic violence cases were handled, educated
key players in domestic violence cases, and showed the world what it was like to be a
victim of domestic abuse. Without her efforts, many individuals in power addressing
these cases would be lost and those to who are victims would not be understood as they
are today.
Duluth Program
Pence established the Duluth program at the Domestic Abuse Intervention Project
(DAIP) in Duluth, Minnesota. The Duluth model can be described as a men s re
education curriculum and an intervention model that addresses women s safety by
modifying and coordinating the procedures, practices, and discernments of the involved
parties of domestic violence cases, such
Medical Products Liability Lawsuit Case
Medical Products Liability Claims in the Wake of Coleman v. Medtronic

The California Court of Appeals decision in Coleman v. Medtronic has made it easier
for plaintiffs to pursue medical products liability claims. In the landmark 2014 decision,
the court held that the state law tort claims asserted by the plaintiff were not federally
preempted. The decision is part of a growing body of medical products liability law
regarding the circumstances under which a state law claim can impose parallel
requirements to those under the Food, Drug Cosmetics Act (FDCA) and, therefore, avoid
federal preemption.

The Facts of the Case

John Coleman filed a product liability lawsuit against Medtronic, Inc., and Medtronic
Sofamor Danek USA, Inc. (collectively, Medtronic), alleging that he suffered painful
complications after a spinal surgery in which Infuse, Medtronic s federally approved
bone fusion medical device, was used in an off label manner.

The Federal Drug Administration (FDA) granted Infuse premarket approval for use in
certain types of spinal fusion surgeries, including Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion
(Anterior Fusion). The type of surgery Coleman underwent Posterior Fusion was
promoted by Medtronic but not approved by the FDA. As detailed in court documents,
studies funded by Medtronic found that the medical device could cause bone growth in
the spinal canal, but the company did not report the adverse events to the FDA.
Medtronic was also aware that adverse
Teaching And Learning For Students
Many school systems believe that the only effective way for students to learn is through
direct instruction. This isn t the only way, but it is the most common way throughout
America. Direct instruction is the easiest way for teachers to instruct to a whole group
and students are used to this type of instruction. But that style of teaching isn t exactly
the best way for students to learn and retain information. One of the most effective ways
for students to learn is through differentiated instruction. Differentiated instruction is a
framework for effective teaching that involves providing different students with different
avenues to learn. This style of instruction allows for the curriculum to adapt to certain
needs and interests of individual students. (Bravmann) Making this instruction one of the
most effective styles of teaching. It also gives both the teachers and the students more
of an opportunity to learn in different ways that will help them to be successful in the
long run. Since this type of instruction involves a ton of work many teachers don t use it
because they don t have the time but it is really worth the time, especially for the
students who don t learn like everyone else when it comes to direct instruction. One of
the best examples of differentiated instruction comes from The Ron Clark film which is
about who is a man from North Carolina who moved to New York and had the chance to
change the lives of students through differentiated instruction. He

Interview with Network Administrator
I am planning to become a network and computer systems administrator. One of the
reasons that I selected this career path is that I stand working in this field and feel that
I have strong skills and background information. I started in the Information
Technology field in 2008 as a System Support Specialist for a University in Pakistan. I
have always liked Computers and networking and how it works and, when I caught the
opportunity to apply for a job in this field I applied for it. My Diploma in Information
Technology from Pakistan facilitated myself to understand the basics of computers and
Networking. I expanded my technical and troubleshooting skills and obtained a job as a
Help desk specialist in the United States and I want to become a Network Administrator
in the future.
The purpose of my interview is to study the impact of a Network administrator in the
IT industry, and to do this I set up an interview with one of my colleague Michael
Pham, Network and Systems administrator. He is 32 years of age and 5 feet 9 inches
tall. He has diminutive eyes and muscular body; he likes sports and does not want to
gain weight. He appears extremely talkative if you glimpse at his face, but he is not.
You would like to talk to him as he is incredibly kind with his soft voice. He is
undoubtedly a suitable go to person if you have a problem in Networking and you are
unable to solve it yourself.

Point Of View In Grendel And Beowulf Essay
Contrasting points of view in Grendel and Beowulf significantly alter the reader s
perception of religion, good and evil, and the character Grendel. John Gardner s book,
Grendel, is written in first person. The book translated by Burton Raffel, Beowulf, is
written in third person. Good and evil is one of the main conflicts in the poem Beowulf.
How is Grendel affected by the concepts of good and evil? Grendel is an alienated
individual who just wants to be a part of something. His desire to fit in causes him to do
evil things. Grendel is fascinated by the Shaper s poetry. He often returns to the meadhall
to listen to it. One night while he is listening, he hears the story of Cain and Abel,
including the Danes explanation of Grendel. His... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Beowulf is truly good because he helps people when they need it the most and hopes
that God is with him even though he doesn t have to do anything to help the people
who have an evil creature killing their village s population every night. In Grendel, the
main belief is that of existentialism, however, there are also numerous references to
Cain throughout the entire book. The basis for his version of existentialism is the
following excerpt from the book itself: I understood that the world was nothing: a
mechanical chaos of casual, brute enmity on which we stupidly impose our hopes and
fears. I understood that, finally and absolutely, I alone exist. All the rest, I saw, is
merely what pushes me, or what I push against, blindly as blindly as all that is not
myself pushes back. I create the whole universe, blink by blink. An ugly god pitifully
dying in a tree (Gardner 22)! One can explain this view of existentialism by considering
some simple concepts of existentialism.
Existentialists believe that man is forlorn and totally responsible for his acts, and that his
choices are important because existence precedes essence.
Furthermore, the references to Cain, which represented chaos and the presence of evil,
can be found throughout the book. For example, after Cain killed his brother, he drinks
his blood. This is typically something that Grendel does after he kills his victims.
Additionally, both Cain and Grendel are viewed as outcasts of society who have to
