Part-1
1. What is Research and its purpose?
- Research is a systematic inquiry process that includes data collection,
documentation of important information, analysis, and interpretation of that data and
information in accordance with appropriate methodologies established by particular
academic and professional disciplines. Therefore, the goal of research is to
determine what is known, what is unknown, and what can be developed further.
2. Why is research important to students?
- Research is significant to students as it allows us to gain a deeper understanding and
knowledge of a subject, develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and learn
how to find and evaluate information. Additionally, research can be used to support
and strengthen arguments in academic work, and can be beneficial for those
pursuing careers in academia or research-related fields. Research also helps
students to develop independence and self-motivation, which are important for
success in both our academic and professional lives.
3. Differentiate between Basic and Applied research.
- Instead of trying to find a solution, basic research concentrates on knowledge
expansion. Applied research, on the other hand, focuses its efforts on identifying a
solution to a particular issue.
4. Differentiate between quantitative and qualitative research methods.
- While qualitative research focuses on words and meanings, quantitative research
deals with figures and statistics. You can systematically measure variables and test
hypotheses using quantitative methods while you can delve deeper into ideas and
experiences using qualitative methods.

Part-2
For each of the sectors listed below, describe in one or two sentences
one research topic that could be performed at that site.

1. School
- Difference between online learning and on site learning. Since we are in a hybrid
learning, this topic is great to work on to know the preferences of the students.
2. Hospital
- Importance of Mental Health. During the world pandemic, lots of people fell into
depression and ruined their mental health. With this topic people will have knowledge
about mental health and how to take care of it.
3. Supermarket
- Adaptation of Supermarkets with E-Payments. A lot has been improved since the
global pandemic, a lot of payments are done contactless through online banking, so
with this topic we can learn about the supermarkets that apply the new way of
paying.
