The European Union (EU) released the Eurocode 3 - EN 1993-1-8 for the construction and correct implementation of steel constructions.
Products which were produced according to european guidelines, have a CE mark. Bolting assemblies are described in the subordinated
standard EN 1090-2.

This standard consists of two parts:

Preloaded and non preloaded bolting assemblies (screws and nuts).

The preloaded structural bolting assemblies need to comply with the EN 14399 requirements:
Part 1: General requirements
Part 4: Screws and nuts (previously DIN 6914-6915)
Part 6: Washers (previously DIN 6916)
Since many years we have been offering a wide product range in this.

The non preloaded structural bolting assemblies need to comply with the EN 15048 requirements:
Part 1: General requirements
Part 2: Fitness for purpose

These new requirements for manufacturing companies will take effect in most european countries on July 1st 2014.
As most steel constructions are built with non preloaded structural bolting assemblies, the demand for such fasteners will grow conti-
nuously.
Kellner & Kunz has been ready to supply structural bolts (assemblies for steel constructions) according to standard EN 15048-1 since
beginning of 2013.
