You may also give us information ‘when using our website or membership system, Information may include your name, date of birth, postal address, email address, phone number, disability, ethnicity, your archery qualifications, award history, or checks that have been undertaken. This will be used to record your qualification and invite you to renew your licence. Your role as a coach ‘As you work towards gaining the qualification, you will be helped to understand what is expected of an archery coach, what the standards of behaviour are, and how coaches are role models for others. Coaching archery, whether in an employed or voluntary capacity, is a rewarding and responsible role, The public and sporting community has. expectations of coaches’ conduct and behaviour, which must be understood and supported oy everybody. Archery GB's Code of Conduct for Coaches, Judges and Officials defines appropriate behaviour for archery coaches. The code underpins everything you do as coach and it is important to read it and fully understand it. We encourage you to make itavailable to your club members, so that they also understand what they can expect from their coaches, judges and officials in archery. Archery GB’s Session Coach is a non-regulated qualification developed by specialist archery coaches. How do you achieve the qualification? To achieve the Session Coach qualification, you need to attend each day of training, and successfully complete all associated assessment tasks in this workbook. Upon successful completion, you will be issued with a qualification certificate within 30 days, Ifyou're unsuccessful, you are permitted to recomplete some or alll of the course. This is at your own cost and organisation, Why is it important for you to become a Licensed Coach? Itis very important that you hold an Archery GB Coaching Licence. ‘As a coach you are in a position of trust. deing licensed gives confidence to those around you and helps ensure the sport is safe for everyone. This is why only licenced coaches are officially recognised by Archery GB. It's free to become licensed and makes you stand ‘out from unofficial coaches, Before or on the final day of the Session Coach course, provide evidence that you've completed, safeguarding training within the last 12 months. (On successful completion of the course, Archery GB will provide you with details about how to complete a D85 / PVG disclosure. (On satisfactory receipt of this, you will be recognised as a licensed coach for 3 years, upon which some renewal activity is required. Use this workbook to complete the described tasks as you progress through each module. The tasks are marked by a Coach Developer and contribute to your achievement of the qualification. The Record of Achievement form summarises your details, attendance, and results. When you’ve successfully completed all of the tasks, your Coach Developer will inform Archery GB. You will then receive your qualification certificate within 30 days. Please keep your workbook intact and bring it to each day of the course. Thisis the most popular way for archery clubs to welcome new members. ‘The course is structured into the following four module titles Starting Your Coaching Journey Being a coach is in itself a learning journey, where we adapt and refine our skills by learning from our experiences. This module identifies simple yet must-have skills for coaches, including how to develop an empowering Climate, and use reflection and feedback to take action towards improvement. Introduction to Technique Learning good shooting technique early on sets people up for a happy and healthy experience of archery. From a coach's perspective, understanding the basics of shooting form and teaching these to your beginners from the first session is really important, This medule helps coaches learn the simple steps to shooting and how to introduce this to new archers, based on their ndividual needs. It includes a practical introduction on the use of drills and skills to improve the quality of practice. f Creating Engaging Sessions Coaching offers us a wonderful opportunity to offer new people to our sport something in life that is increasingly missing from day to day activities. This is a sense of achievement, development, and connection alongside a multitude of health benefits. But this doesn't happen by accident, it takes skilled coach to curate a session that has all the right ingredients for beginners to really enjoy and benefit from the session. It is used by Archery G8 to certify Learners once all the tasks have been successfully completed. This will establish the ground rules for the relationship. Once you are happy with the role expectations, complete the agreement.
