Д Lviv Polytechnic National University is the oldest technical higher educational institution in
Ukraine and Eastern Europe. It was founded in 1816. University consists of 17 institutes,
more than 100 departments; autonomous, additional and general subdivisions. The Institutes
offer courses in various subject areas, the principal of which are the following: Applied Mathematics,
Architecture,Engineering, Chemical Technology, Computer Science, Economics,
Electronics,Geodesy, Cartography, Journalism, Jurisprudence, Metrology etc.

М We study at the Department of Artificial Intelligence Systems. Artificial intelligence is one of the
most promising areas of computer science, which studies methods of solving problems for which
there are no solutions. Artificial intelligence systems can operate with data and learn in the process.
From the first year of the program, students learn to develop their own projects and work in teams
with experienced mentors from leading companies in Lviv, including SoftServe and GlobalLogic.
During their studies, students learn such programming languages as: Java, Python, R.
Д Basic subjects include linear algebra and numerical methods. With a focus on specialization,
courses are taught in machine learning, databases and data warehouses, big data, artificial
intelligence methods, digital signal, text, and image processing.

Д The AI department gives you marvelous prospects for your future career. It has extensive
connections with international universities and companies, in particular, there are agreements with
two universities in Germany and Slovakia, it means that student will be able to receive two diplomas
at once after completing his studies. Most of the graduates of the Institute of Computer Sciences and
Information Technologies are employed.

м The campus unites a complex of dormitories for students, student families, postgraduates, students
of preparatory departments, applicants and students of other university departments.it includes
volleyball and basketball courts.
Д If a student studies at the expense of the state budget and successfully passes the semester

Lviv Polytechnic, nonetheless, the most forward-looking one.

education in Europe. The University offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees

Admission to the university is based on secondary education certificates. Knowledge of English

language (TOEFL or IELTS certificate) is a mandatory requirement for admission, as education is
conducted in English, except for specialties requiring knowledge of another language. The University
has the Faculty of Architecture and Civil Engineering, Faculty of Humanities, Natural Sciences, Arts,
Information Technologies, Faculty of Medicine and Surgery etc.

М Summarizing all of the above, we can say that studying at the University of Malta is much more
expensive per year of study, but it also has appropriate conditions for students to live and
study.According to our opinion, Lviv Polytechnic National University gives you more opportunities to
improve the IT sphere, but in general, the educational programs have the same goals and prepare the
same specialists.
