The double pump was designed as an axial piston swash plate type pump, consisting of seven main parts: a connector housing 3.0 with suction and pressure connections and pump control, horsepower control valves 4.0 with proportional solenoids and pressure cut off, pump nousing 10 with gears for pumps P1/P2, end flange 11 as well as mounting flange 13, In addition, a fixed displacement gear pump 8.0 is mounted to the end flange 11. The gear pump supplies te necessary servo pressure for the double pump and the hydraulic system Both pumps P1 /P2 (gear shaft, cylinder, piston) are driven by the Diesel engine via an elastic coupling. The gear shaft of pump P1 is directly connected with the coupling and drives the input shaft of pump P2 via the connector sleeve 3.15 in the connector housing 3.0 The gear pump 8.0is driven via the longer gear shaft of pump P2 Both variable displacement pumps are supplied with hydraulic oil via. a common suction port in the connector housing 3.0. They supply hydraulic oil for the separate hydraulic circuits via connections A1/A2. The leak oil from both pumps flows via a common leak oil connection to the tank The swivel angle and thus the displacement of both pumps are changed by the electronic horsepower control with pressure cut off and pump control, keeping the Diesel engine runing at constant RPMs A pressure cut off is installed in each regulating valve 4 0 to prevent a loss of power, if the primary pressure relie! valves actuate. BerennungiDescriptiorsDenamination ye, See page 7 LIEBHERR Mode! “sub giovameex Variable displacement double [rronepauu pump "LPVD" DatumitdtonDate slate Pagerreuille 10-80 7.10.01 Function, see also diagram on page 7.10.06 The input shafts 1.10 and 2.10, which are located on the connector flange 13, connector housing 3.0 and end flange 11, drive cylinders 1.11, 2.11, which are connected with the gear Nine pistons 1.1 / 2.1 are mounted parallel around the input shaft in the cylinder. The piston bottams are ball shaped and set in the slide shoes. They are held by return plates 1.14/2 14 and return ball 1.13/2.13 on the swiveling, but not rotating swivel crossbar 1.16/2.16with thrust washers 1 15/2 15. The slide shoes 1.1/2.1, mounted hydrostatically on the thrust washers 1.15/ 2.15 (via bore holes in the piston and slide shoes) reduce the large sliding surface between the slide shoes and the thrust washer to.a minimum. When not under pressure, the cylinder 1.11 / 2.11 is pressed against the control lens 1.12 / 2.12 by springs 1.30/ 2.30, installed in the return ball 1.13/2.13. As pressure increases, cylinder and contro! lens are so well balanced by hydraulic forces, that even at high loads an oil film is maintained on the surfaces of the control lens, while at the same time leak oil is kept to a minimum. Part of the leak oil is used to lubricate all moving parts and then flows externally to the tank If the cylinders 1.11 /2.11 turn, the piston 1.1/2.1 move ina double stroke from the lower to the upper limit and then reverse. The stroke 1 carried out in relations to the swivel angle of the swivel crossbar 1.16/2.16 and is responsible for the flow volume The axial piston unit moves via kidney shaped control inlets in the control lens 1.12 / 2.12. Four of the moving pistons 33 draw oil through the kidney shaped oil inlets on the suction sige of the pump. The other four pistons displace the oil which is supplied via the kidney shaped oil oullets to the pressure side of the pump, moving oll via connections A1/A2 into the hydraulic system. A ninth piston is moving between the upper and the lower limit, at dead center, ie. just changing directions. The control piston 3.11, which is connected with the swivel crossbar, displaces the pump from maximum to minimum swivel angle. The exact regulation of the pump is regulated by control pistons 4.16 and 4.17 in regulating valve 4 0 with proportional solenoids 4.5.11 Function of Regulating valves with control The servo pressure is held via connection FA on regulating valves 4.0. 1. Servo controls in neutral position If the servo controls are not actuated, no electrical current flows the proportional solenoid valve 4.5.11 and pumps P1/P2 are held on minimum flow by the servo pressure on control piston 3.11 (remaining oil for lubrication, cooling). The cantrol pistons touch adjustment screw 3.17. 2. Control of attachment and travel movement ‘My moving the servo control, a signal is given via a switch from the electronic control to supply current to the proportional solenoids, which moves control pistons 4.17 depending on the amount of current, The control pistons are moved against springs 4.27, creating a connection to the large piston surface. The control pressure is pushed against the large surface of control piston 3.11 via intemal bore holes and check valves in the connector and regulating valve housing 3.10 / 4.6, control piston 4.16 (pressure cut off ) and control piston 4.17 ( horsepower control valve } The pumps move to maximum angle ang put out maximum flow. This change is transmitted via spring rod 4.12 t0 the regulating valves, i.e, the preload on springs 4 26 is increased by return piston 4.11 The attachment pressure in the hydraulic system rises depending on the resistance on the allachments or lravel gear This pressure is also applied via internal bore holes from pressure connections A1 / A? to regulating valves 4 0, now the control piston 3-11 is not longer actuated just by control pressure but also by attachment pressure 3. Reduction of the pump flow via pressure switch For some working functions, as an exemple swing or stick (stick only for A 912 up to $.N. 424 and R 912 up to 5.N. 834), the flow of the pump P! must be limited to a constant value The pressure switch B31 gives a signal to the horsepower control, which then limits the current to the solenoid valve of P? 10 a given value (see sub group 7.05) ‘The swivel angle of the pump and thus the pump flow are limited to a constant value. With some optional attachments (hydraulic hammer, pressure cutin for boom up, ...) a similar reduction is achiaved via the horsepower control and the pressure switches B33, 852, ..) 4, Reduction of the pump flow viahydraulic controled limiter valve (On some machines, the swing motions cause the control pressure to shift the piston 4.74 of the flow limiter valve 4.18 (see page no. 7.10.08). The force of the spring 4.78 then applies (in addition to the force of the spring 4 26) to the control piston 4.17 and the pump angle is limited to an intermediate value, even at maximum solenoid valve current 5. Horsepower control The engine speed is continually measured by an inductive engine speed sensor via a gear on the flywheel (actual speed) When the engine's power limit is reached, the engine speed drops. This drop in engine speed (= difference between nominal speed and actual speed) reduces current to the solenoids, This reduction causes springs 4.26 / 4.27 to regulate control pistons 4,17, reducing control pressure to the large piston surface This causes the pumps to move to smaller pump an again at nominal speed. and reduces the pump output, The Diesel engine is 6. Pressure cut off If the pressure in the hydraulic system should rise above a certain value (below the adjustment value of the primary pressure relief valves), which is the same as the preload pressure of springs 4.29, the control pistons 4.16 are moved This causes the control pistons 4 16 to limit the pressure to the large piston surface 3.11, until the pumps go to minimum swivel angie (remaining quantity) Fach pump can be reduced independently from the swivel angle of the other pump. At reduced working pressure, the springs 4.29 move the control pistons 4.16 into starting position, returning the pumps to their original swivel angle 7. Toreduce pump output if a problem occurs # the engine coolant temperature rises too much, or the hydraulic oil level in the tank drops below the permissible minimum value, the pumps return automatically to minimum flow. The electronic horsepower contral receives the appropriate signals from sensors in the engine and in the hydraulic tank. They cause a reduction in control pressure to the proportional solenoids of regulating valves 4.0, causing the pumps to return to minimum flow Senennung bese ption Denammatin See page 7 Sub group index LIEBHERR Variable Displacement Double | sons roux Pump "LPVD DatumtFartonDate BlatvPagerteuile 7.10.02 01.92 1. Wear Determination on the Variable Displacement Double Pump Pump wear can be checked with a leak oil test. The amount of leak oil of each pump depends on pump wear. Wear is caused by normal pump operation. Normal wear reduces the sealing surface between piston and cylinder, cylinder and control plate as well as between the slide shoes and control lens ; i.e. more oil flows via the leak oil connection to the tank, Unusual wear can be caused by heavy contamination of hydraulic oil (dust and metai particles in the oil). This can lower the pump output until the pump needs to be replaced. By comparing the leak oil quantity with the wear diagram, you can decide if the pump can still be used or needs to be replaced. Before checking the leak oil quantity, make sure the following is done: 1. The correct hydraulic oil as noted on the lube oil chart in section 1.50 is in the machine. 2. The oll temperature is at least 50°C ( measured in the tank) 3. Check the leak oil quantity at max. Diesel engine speed. 4, The leak oil quantity of both pumps must be checked at a constant pressure of 280 - 290 bar. Included is a replenishing pump and valves for the closed loop swing operation The displacement volume is in proportion to the input RPM and infinitely variable. The flow increases as the pump 's shifted from the “0” or neutral position to its maximum output, valves (0 protect and limit the boost pressure, a relief valve 10.7 is installed. For replenishing pressure adjustment, see page for pressure settings in group 6 n each high pressure side, a pilot operated pressure relief valve 10 3/104 is installed. The valves limit the maximum pressure and protect the pump and motor Integrated in the valves are check valves 10.5 and 10.6 which serve as suction valves. For high pressure values, see page for pressure setting in group 6 Torque control Depending on the preselected servo pressure (via the left joystick) the system pressure as well as the direction of the pressure 1s selected. This means that the amount and direction of the torque at the swing motor is infinitely variable This regulation, as well as the determination of the ratio between control to high pressure takes place in the torque contol valve 15 Brake Valve 16 Due to the brake valve 16, installed on the torque control 15, the system acts as an operating brake with the joystick for the swing function in the neutral position a ° raion i a Swing Pump - oma portr de Datumtan Aav" Description and Function BlawFage feu 0093 P 7.15.03 2. Function 24 Rotary group in the pump housing 1, parallel to the input shaft 5, are nine circular arranged pistons 7. The pistons move axially in the cylinder barrel 8 which in turn is firmly connected to the input shaft 5 via splines, The end of the pistons are shaped in a ball joint which in turn is mounted in a ball sockeuglide shoe 2. The glide shoes are held against the variable, but non-rotating swash plate 4 by the retainer plate 84 The swash plate 4 may be shifted from the neutral position to both sides by the guide pin 81 The regulation of the pump via the guide pin 81 is performed by the servo piston 10 2, located in the pump housing and controlled by the torque control valve 15 Depending on the angle of the swash plate 4, the nine pistons have a certain stroke which in turn determines the output (pump flow) of the swing pump. ‘With the swash plate in the neutral position, which means vertical in relation to the input shaft, the piston stroke and the pump flow is theoretically zero. The higher the pressure difference between the two surface areas of the servo piston, the further the servo piston is moved against spring pressure and the steeper the angle of the swash plate 4 will be The length of the spacer 83 controls the possibie stroke of the servo piston and therefore the maximum pump angle When the swash plate 4 is shifted from one angle via the neutral position to the other angle, the direction of flow changes, while the direction of pump rotation remains the same, meaning that the pressure side becomes the suction side and vice versa. In this way, itis possible to change the direction of the wing motor ina closed loop circuit. The control of the pump is via kidney shaped ports in the control lens 6 and the pump head 3. Ouring the revolution of the cylinder 8, oil corresponding to the area and stroke of the piston is sucked in by four pistons through the kidney shaped control ports 82 on the return oil side of the closed circuit Four pistons supply the oil via kidney shaped control ports to the pressure side and push the oil via the pressure port into the closed loop circuit. The ninth piston is at dead center, which means reversing direction The lens twist screw 80 (see fig. 2 and 3) allows to rotate the control lens 6 around the input shaft axis. Thus the kidney shaped ports can be slightly displaced compared to the dead center of the rotary group. enennungiDescriptionienamination typ Seetage 7 LIEBHERR Met ub group Swing Pump Datumearonbate "AAV" Description and Function slaruPagesteuile 7.15.04 ‘Abrtromia parrce 04.93 22. At the same time, servo pressure shifts the piston 16.1 via internal dillings against the force of spring 61! and the boost pressure Psp feeds unrestricted the side B of the servo piston. The servo piston is shifted in the direction of "high pressure in A" and the pump is shifted as well The pump angle increases now until the high pressure at the main port A via connection X 5 and via surface $ at the piston 51 L equalizes the control pressure in chamber $2r, which means that the pistons 511 and Sir are shifted back to the neutral position. As long as the control pressure and high pressure remain balanced, the pump angle remains constant The pressure at port A and therefore the input torque at the swing motor remain constant as well and the regulating range isin proportion to the servo pressure in ine ¥1 (torque control). The ratio between high pressure/servo pressure is due to the difference in the working surface at points S2 and. The servo piston is shifted towards the center position and the pump angle is reduced This causes the opposing pressure at connection B, present in chamber HP, to increase until the pressure via connection X6 and shuttle valve 15 5, shifts the brake piston 16.2 against the force of spring 62 and the connection between the two sides of the servo piston 10.2 is restricted. Because of this restriction, the movement of the servo piston towards the center position is slowed down until the force at piston 16.2 equalizes.
