Marine Department Malaysia (MMD) recognizes any insurance companies, takaful

operators, reinsurers and retakaful licensed by Central Bank of Malaysia. Contract of
insurance or financial security shall comply with the relevant Convention and Limitation of
Liability for Maritime Claims (LLMC Protocol 1996).
