the day and it show the unorthodox teaching approach of the professor. The movie highlights the
importance that you only live once and you should live on your own term. Professor tells his
student how they should make their real goals and not.this theme is the source of many other
themes in the movie. The Flim was highlight important thing that you can clearly saw in this

the pressures student have to perform well and be something. How traditional education
sometimes plays a role in ruining the dreams of everyone. Neil is shown to be a student who

idea of expression is being taught by Keating. keating is a very unique instructor who uses many
different methods of teaching to get the students involved, but but he shows them way to have
fun also. That’s in itself is very unique. Keating is trying to release the emotions these students
have within themselves, and be an individual instead of a follower. In one lesson with these
students he expressed this to the fullest, by having them rip out the introduction of their text
books because of what J.Evans Pritchard,Ph.D.tells them to do with poetry.By ripping that out
they realize that they have a mind of their own and others should not think. The most important
lesson Keating teaches is Carpe Diem, which mean Seize the Day.Even though this method of
instruction is phenomenal and has many benefits, there are a few critiques on Keating becomes
the new English teacher at Welton Academy an esteemed school rootedin tradition, after
attending as a student years ago.He teaches using an unconventional style which is different
from the traditional English curriculum, and in the process,he exposes the students to be a new
perspective on the subject and principles for living life.Keating encourages free-thinking and
condemns the textbook which prevents the students from thinking for themselves.other
individuals ,including the principle, Mr.Nolan, disagree with his unconventional method of
teaching through an English textbook. The lesson that Mr.Keating presents the students reflect
the transcendentalist beliefs of Ralph Emerson found in self-reliance and influence the student to
become more independent thinkers. The movie revolves around a college and how education is

students. We just saw that one movie has multiple directions. You can see so many angles of a
story. The connection of everything to each other and how one action lead to another. All of these
thing make a moving piece of art.The Dead poets society has a special place in literature because
of its detailed analysis of real life dilemmas and problems. The themes moving through the
movie are simple yet have a lot of impacts. All the behavior shown by each character are very
realistic. If you look around yousulf, you will find at least one person with one character trait.
There was a clear clash between the traditional and conservative values espoused by Welton
Academy as an institution, and the progressive teaching methods of John Keating. Welton
Academy’s ethos of “tradition, honor, discipline, and excellence not only discourages but makes it a
crime for a student to exercise a critical political consciousness. Professor John Keating, on the other
hand, is concerned with the political and moral quality of his students. He challenges them to
question the social and political norms that defines their lives at Welton. As a result, he inspires
Charlie to publish an article in the school newspaper, arguing for why Welton should be
coeducational. In the end, Headmaster Gale Nolan, was so unwilling to even consider the possibility
that Neil Perry’s suicide was a product of the intellectually and political repressive atmosphere at
Welton, that he compelled every member of the Dead Poet’s Society on threat of expulsion to sign a
form stating that Keating’s “destructive” teaching method was the true culprit. By the end of the film,
it was clear that what transpires at Welton Academy is not true learning, but rather an insidious form
of social and political control in which the dynamics of the dominant, established society.professor
keating enable his student to not only recognize their own individualities but harness them into a
collective unit that is capable of challenging the status quo.The final scene reveal his success.
