To obtain an ASTER (Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer) image,

you can access the NASA's Earthdata Search portal at https://search.earthdata.nasa.gov/search.

This portal provides access to a wide range of remote sensing data, including ASTER images.

To download an ASTER image, you will need to create an account and select the area of interest on
the map. You can then filter the search results to show only ASTER images and choose the specific
image(s) you want to download. You can also specify the file format and other options before
downloading the image.

Keep in mind that ASTER images are often processed and analyzed using specialized software, such
as ENVI or ArcGIS, and may require some technical expertise to interpret and analyze. Additionally,
some ASTER data may be subject to restrictions on use and distribution, so be sure to review the
data use policies and licensing agreements before using the data.

Alunite can be detected using ASTER imagery by analyzing reflectance in the near-infrared and
shortwave-infrared spectral regions. The recommended band combination for detecting alunite
using ASTER imagery is the SWIR2 (2.33-2.43 μm) band, which is sensitive to diagnostic absorption
features of alunite at around 2.31 μm.

To visualize alunite in an ASTER image, you can use a false-color composite of the following bands:

Red: SWIR1 (1.60-1.70 μm)

Green: NIR (0.76-0.86 μm)

Blue: SWIR2 (2.33-2.43 μm)

This band combination is effective for highlighting alunite-bearing rocks, as alunite typically
exhibits a high reflectance in the SWIR2 band due to its unique spectral signature.
