GENERAL SCOPE This. manual is for use in operating the DLIR Weapons Station on the GRIZZLY AVGP. It includes operating instructions, safety warnings and cautions, and other important information supplement to the TM10004A-10/1 U.S. Marine Corps Technical Manual titled: OPERATOR'S MANUAL UPGUNNED WEAPONS STATION (UGWS) ASSAULT AMPHIBIAN VEHICLE PERSONNEL, MODEL 7A1, AAVPTA1 This supplement covers important information changed, or previously not found, in the TM10004A- 10/1 operator's manual due to weapon station differences. Section Il. DESCRIPTION AND DATA DESCRIPTION The DLIR weapons station (pages 1-1 through 1-3) is constructed of armor plate (per MIL-A-46100 & MIL-A-12560), welded together to form an outside ballistic structure. A basket is attached to the structure, which houses the gunner and the equipment necessary to operate the station. The primary weapon is a .50 caliber, M2HB machine gun; the secondary weapon is a 7.62mm, C6 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG). Also, two 12.MK 1 Multi-Barrel Smoke Grenade Dischargers are mounted on the weapons station. See the following pages of this supplement for important information, differences and changes to the TM10004A-10/1. Note that all weapons station differences not specifically addressed inthis supplement manual are to be implied throughout reading the TM10004A-10/1 (ie. 7.62mm machine gun replaces 40mm machine gun references, AVGP GRIZZLY replaces AAVP7A1 references, 6400 mils replaces 360" references, etc.) ‘TM 10004A-10/1 SUPPLEMENT WEAPONS STATION 1 2 3 4 5 6 iq 8 Legend 50 caliber, M2HB machine gun Gunners Sight Sight cover Gunners hatch .50 caliber ammo box (2) Vision block (7) 42MK1 Grenade Discharger (2) 762mm ammo tray Azimuth indicator Gunners seat 42 channel slp ring Power relay assembly 50 caliber spent cartridge box 7.2mm spent cartridge box Turret and weapon controls, 7.62mm, C6 machine gun TABULATED DATA Weight and Size Weight (with armament) sun 1800 Ib (816.5 kg) Height (overall... son 76.7 in (194.5 cm) Diameter a 46.3 in (117.6 cm) Length (without armament) 69 in (175.3 cm) Operation... .Electric/Manual Performance Traverse... 6400 mils continuous Elevation +45 deg (800.0 mils) Depression + 8 deg (142.22 mils) Sighting Daylight ..(a) Unity (b) Optical, 7-Power Night Passive vision assembly, 7-Power Armament .. 50 cal, M2HB Machine Gun 83.8 Ib (38 kg) Rate of Fire (cyclic)... .~450-550 rpm Muzzle Velocity 2810 fps (856.5 m’s) Maximum Range —— 7328 yd (6700 m) ‘Secondary .. 7.62 mm, C6 Machine Gun Weight oereeene 24.3 Ib (11 kg) Rate of Fire (cyclic) .-580-1100 rpm.
