AGRIBUSINESS MANAGER 1

Abstract

An Agribusiness Manager must perform a variety of tasks for the industry to succeed. Each task

must be done with a respectable level of technical ability, but also use general management and

problem solving skills. Managers must successfully combine all of their assets in order to not

only produce a sellable product. In addition to producing a sellable product they must work more

efficiently than their competitors in order to earn their right to make a profit. Agribusiness

Managers must work effectively with these 2 important responsibilities in order to excel in their

position. In return, this allows the business to run effectively under the guidance of an

Agribusiness Manager. Each day managers all over the United States must adjust to changing

market conditions, adapt to customer needs, and maintain their aggressiveness in the market.

Financial management includes budgeting, cost analysis, and financial planning to ensure

profitability and sustainability. Inventory and supply chain management are both crucial aspects

of a manager's daily job, including keeping track of inventory levels, ensuring timely

procurement of inputs like seeds and equipment, and coordinating the logistics of getting the

harvested produce to the market. Management of resources such as water and fertilizers allows

profit to be maximized. This includes implementing efficient irrigation systems to minimize

water usage and apply fertilizers in a targeted and sustainable manner. When managing

resources, it is important to maximize productivity while minimizing environmental impact. The

goal is to create a sustainable, efficient, and profitable operation that feeds the world while taking

care of the environment.
