CELL ULTRASTRUCTURE

(Bio Chemistry)

Introduction:
Before we start to the main topic it is just a recall on what we studied in a past year, we
already know what is cell in high school, so now we are going to know more, specially to the
structure of the cell. Let’s define first what is cell, in biology it is the smallest structural and
functional unit of an organism, typically microscopic and consist of cytoplasm and
a nucleus enclosed in a membrane. Microscopic organisms typically consist of a single cell,
which is either eukaryotic or prokaryotic. In this lesson, we are going to identify the methods of
studying structure and functions of cell, what is subcellular organelle and also the cells according
to its type.

Objectives:

In this lesson you will going to understand the following:

 Identifying the methods of studying structure and function of cell?

 What is subcellular organelle?
 The cells according to its type?
