WHERE IS IT?
Using your laptop or desktop computer, go to
raterhub.com/evaluation/rater and log in with the gmail
account you provided to Appen.
We recommend that you finish Part 1 within the first or
second day of the 7-day exam period.

WHAT'S IN IT?
120 true or false questions about the General Guidelines.

Before you attempt the exam, make sure that you're

familiar with the Page Quality and Needs Met rating
tasks that are found in the Learning Center.

HOW DO I PASS IT?

The exam is open book, so keep
the General Guidelines open.

Use CTRL+F (PC) or Command+F

(Mac) to search the guidelines
for key words or phrases from
each exam question.

Example:
True or false - All landing pages
are webpages
Search for the key phrase
"landing page." You likely won't
find anything if you search for the
entire statement, so search
broadly using key words or
phrases.
Zoom in to see: Searching for "landing page"
in the general guidelines
Based on the General Guidelines, we see
that the statement should be rated false,
because some landing pages are not
webpages.
