দেমনঃ He is a good boy.
এখারন good হে Adjective. এটি দ্বা া গুন েুোরনা হরয়র ।

TENSE
Learning Objectives:
Students will be able to identify the verb and tense in a sentence by circling and labeling. Students will be able
to write a sentence using the past, present, or future tense.
Tense মরন াখা সহজ উপায় জানা োকরে, ইংর জজ দিখা আ ও সহজ হরয় োয়। Tense হরো ইংর জজ কঙ্কাে। ইংর জজরত োকে
ততশ ক রত হরে Tense এ পা েিী হওয়া জরুশ ।
ইংর জজরত পা েিী হরত সোই চায়। সুন্দ কর ইংর জজ োকে ততশ কর েেরত ও শেখরত পা া অরনরক ই স্বপ্ন োরক। শকন্তু সোই
পার না। তরে কোয় আর , দচষ্টায় সে হে। তাই েত দেশি অনুিীেন ক া হরে, তত দেশি েক্ষতা অজথন হরে।
In English Grammar Tense is used to refer to time of an action or event.
Tense is the concept of time which may be present, past or future.
দকান কাজ সম্পােরন সময়রক Tense ো কাে েরে। Tense দ্বা া সময়রক উরেখ ক া হয় এেং ো েতথমান, অতীত শকংো ভশেেেত
হরত পার ।
Example: - I eat rice. (present)
- I ate rice. (past)
- I will eat rice. (future)
এখারন উপর োকে গুরোরত েোক্ররম েতথমান, অতীত ও ভশেেেৎ কারজ কো শনরেথি কর ।
Types of Tense:
The concept of time (tense) can be differentiated into three categories.
The present / simple present tense. (what are you presently doing )
The past.(What you did some time back).
The future. (What you will do some time later).
And all of these tenses are differentiated into the following four categories:
1. Indefinite Tense
2. Continuous Tense
3. Perfect Tense
4. Perfect Continuous Tense
Indefinite
1.Present Indefinite =Subject + Main Verb + Object.
2.Past Indefinite = Subject + Verb + Object.
3.Future Indefinite = Subject + shall/will + verb + object
Example :
1. I go to school.
2. I went to school.
3. I will go to school.
Continuous
Structure:
1. Present Continuous Tense: Sub+ be verb (number ও person অনুোয়ী েসরে) + verb + ing +
object.
2. Past Continuous Tense: Sub + was/were + main verb + ing + object.
3. Future Continuous Tense: Sub+ shall be/will be +verb + ing + obj.
Example:
1. I am going to school.
2. I was going to school.
3. I will be going to the office.
Perfect
Structure :
1.Present Perfect Tense: Subject + have/has + V3 + object.
2.Past Perfect Tense: Subject + had + V3 + object.
3.Future Tense Perfect: Subject + shall /will have + V3 + object.
Example:
1.I have gone to school.
2.I had gone to school.
3. I will have gone to school.
Perfect Continuous
Structure :
1.Present Perfect Continuous: Sub+ has /have been + main verb + ing + object.
2. Past Perfect Continuous: Sub+ had been + main verb + ing + object.
3.Future Perfect Continuous: Sub+ will /shall have been + main verb + ing + object.
Example:
1. I have been doing this work for two days.
2. I had been doing this work when he came.
3. I will have been doing this work before they come.

Affirmative to Negative
আজ আম া আরোচনা ক রো শকভারে খুে সহরজ Affirmative to negative এ পশ েতথনগুরো মরন াখা োয়। Affirmative to
negative, Transformation of Sentence এ ই একটি অংি। েশেও Affirmative to negative অরনকিা সহজ শকন্তু েইরয় অরনক
গুরো শনয়ম োকায় সেগুরো রুপ মরন াখািা অরনকিা কষ্ট হরয় োয়। তাই আজ আশম দেখারো শকভারে একটি চারিথ মাধেরম।
Affirmative to negative এ সেগুরো রুপ খুে সহরজ মরন াখা োয়। শনরচ চািথ এ শে দেওয়া হে। শনয়মগুরো সারে উোহ ণ
গুরো শমশেরয় পর়ি শনরে সহরজ মরন োকরে।
Affirmative Negative
1. Only/alone [Person /Allah] 1.None but
Exp: Only God can help us . Exp: None but God can help us.
2. Only [things] 2. Nothing but
Exp:I like only mango. Exp: I like nothing but mango.
3. Only [number ] 3. Not more than/not less than
Exp: He has only two brothers Exp: He has not more than two brothers.
4. Both..........and 4. Not only.............but also
Exp: Both Arafat and Rasel are good friends. Exp: Not only Arafat but also Rasel are good
friends.
5. A few 5. Not many
Exp: I have a few friends Exp: I have not many friends.
6. Many 6. Not a few
Exp: He has many friends. Exp: He has not a few friends.
7. Must/have to /had to 7. Cannot but / could not but
Exp: We must obey our teacher. Exp: We cannot but obey our teacher.
8. all/every + noun 8. There is no +noun+but+verb......
Exp: Every man hates a liar. Exp: There is no man but hates a liar.
9. Sub+verb+obj (Exceptional) 9. sub+be verb+not+opposite word
Exp: He is a good student. Exp: He is not a bad student.
Wh- Questions ততশ ক া সময় Auxiliary Verbs: am, is, are, was, were, have, has, had, will, would, can, could,
shall, should, may, might ইতোশে োগরে।
আ Auxiliary Verbs না োকরে প্রেত্ত Statement/ Affirmative Sentence এ Tense ও Subject এ Number এেং
Person অনুোয়ী do, did, does োরগ।
WH-question-দক question word ো প্রশ্নরোধক িব্দও েো হয়। এই প্রশ্নরোধক িব্দগুরো “W’ এেং “H” েণগুরো
থ ধা ণ
কর । দসজনে এরে রক wh-question েো হয়। এগুরো হরো:

1.What : Sentence এ দিরে দকারনা েস্তু নাম / শক েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ (Underlined) োকরে What দ্বা া
Wh- Question ততশ ক রত হয়।
👉It is marker.
=What is it?
👉 The Earth is round.
= What is round?
2.Who:
Sentence এ শুরুরত দকারনা েেজক্ত নাম / দক / কা া েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ (Underlined) োকরে Who দ্বা া
Wh- Question ততশ ক রত হয়।
👉Mr. Jamal is my father.
=Who is my father?
👉He is a teacher.
= Who is a teacher?
3.When: সময় /কখন -েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ োকরে When দ্বা া Question ক রত হয়।
👉 I get up at 5 am. (at 5 am এ নীরচ োগ)
=When do I get up?
4.Where : স্থান / জায়গা নাম েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ দেয়া োকরে Where দ্বা া Wh-question ততশ ক রত হয়.
👉 I live in Juri. ( Juri নীরচ োগ)
=Where do I live?
5.Why: দকন / কী কা রণ / কী জনে/ শকরস জনে েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ দেয়া োকরে Why দ্বা া Wh-Question ক রত হয়।
9.Which : দকানটি/ দকানগুরো েুোয় এমন িরব্দ শনরচ োগ োকরে Which দ্বা া Wh-Question ক রত হয়।

1.1 Asking Question :
Here is one to one-to-one question session. You have to ask or write question to your friend on a selected
topic. Try to ask your partner “information questions.” For example, use question words like what, where,
who, etc.
Answer your partner’s questions clearly. Try not to give short answers like yes or no.

1. Who's your best friend?
- I have a lot of friends but my best friend is Jenifer. She's very punctual, generous, and extroverted person.
2. What does your best friend look like?
