The things you've heard about Zelensky are following: he was an actor making comedy show parodies
about the corrupt politicians of ukraine (he was a president in it). Then he actually ran for a president of
ukraine and won the elections. He is a man out of people, hes just a regular person, like me and you,
one of us. Ukraine has had a long tradition of insanely corrupt government and civil unrest. Corrupt
governments are the thing everywhere, you're delusional if you think your government isnt corrupt, its
only a matter to which extent. Ukraine is different since its basically an oligarchy, ran by a few people
that have extraordinary amounts of money and they can orchestrate whatever they please in the
country. One of those people is Igor Kolomoisky.

In 1992, he had co-founded PrivatBank and its informal extension of companies, Privat Group, and
he subsequently acquired extensive media holdings. Between 2014 and 2016, Kolomoyskyi served
as Governor of Dnipropetrovsk Oblast until his dismissal by President Petro Poroshenko. That year,
his undercapitalised bank was declared a threat to Ukraine’s financial security and taken into state
ownership. In 2019, Kolomoyskyi's media power and funding supported Volodymyr Zelenskyy's
successful presidential campaign to unseat Poroshenko.

While Zelenskiy is portrayed as a fighter against oligarchs in his TV show, in reality he is clearly linked to
the Ukrainian oligarch Ihor Kolomoisky, the owner of 1+1 TV, where the candidate’s show has appeared
since 2012.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and his partners in comedy production owned a network of
offshore companies related to their business based in the British Virgin Islands, Cyprus, and Belize.

Zelensky’s current chief aide, Serhiy Shefir, as well as the head of the country’s Security Service, were
part of the offshore network.
Offshore companies were used by Shefir and another business partner to buy pricey London real estate.

Around the time of his 2019 election, Zelensky handed his shares in a key offshore company over to
Shefir, but the two appear to have made an arrangement for Zelensky’s family to continue receiving
money from the offshore.
