Definition of Word Processing Software:
A word processor is a device or computer program that
provides for input, editing, formatting, and output of text,
often with some additional features. Early word
processors were stand-alone devices dedicated to the
function, but current word processors are word
processor programs running on general purpose
computers.
HISTORY
The Redactron Corporation (organized by Evelyn
Berezin in 1969) designed and manufactured editing
systems, including correcting/editing typewriters,
cassette and card units, and eventually a word
processor called the Data Secretary.

FUNCTIONS
It allows users to write and modify text, display it on a screen,
save it electronically, and print it out. Word processing software
is one of the most common technology tools in the world,
allowing users to create resumes and cover letters, business
correspondence, blog posts, novels, and more.

The History of Microsoft Word
The first ever version of Microsoft Word - Word 1.0 - was
launched in October 1983 and developed by former Xerox
programmers, Charles Simonyi and Richard Brodie. The two
were hired by Microsoft founders Bill Gates and Paul Allen, in
1981. At this time, Word was called Multi-Tool Word
