Problem Statement

Imagine you have been hired as the HR Head of e-Mart and currently it has 50-100 employees.
Till now e-Mart had all freshers working in the HR department and their processes were not
well set. They now need you to help them set up the HR department. The first task for you to
do in this direction is to define the competencies for the HR department. You will need to
define 6 competencies for the members of the HR department. Along with writing the
competency name and a brief description for it, you need to also write 3-4 Behaviour
Indicators for each competency.

Here are some tips and hints for you:

• Create a mix of generic and function competencies.


• Key elements of a competency are:
• Competency name
• Competency description
• Behaviour Indicators (Should be observable)

Example:

• Competency Name: Communication


• Competency Description: The ability to exchange information efficiently and
effectively with all stakeholders.
• Behaviour Indicators:
o Speaks and writes clearly and effectively.
o Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds
appropriately.
o Asks questions to clarify and exhibits interest in having a two-way
communication.
o Tailors’ language, tone, style, and format to match the audience.
