1. This Office, through the Curriculum Implementation Division announces the

conduct of Division Science and Technology Fair (DSTF) 2023 with the theme,
Rebuilding Resilient Communities: Embracing Science and
Technology for a Sustainable Tomorrow on November 18, 2023 at Limay
National High School, Limay, Bataan.

2. The Division Science and Technology Fair 2023 aims to:

a. promote Science and Technology consciousness and a culture of
innovation among the youth;
b. identify the most creative and innovative students researches and
division representatives to the Regional Science and Technology Fair
(RSTF) 2023.

3. The participation of schools in the DSTF shall be clustered into the following
categories:
a. Tuklas: A Research Project Fair- A STEM research competition that
provides opportunities for Junior and Senior High School learners to
showcase their research projects based on their field of interest and/or
real-world problems, issues, and concerns;
i. Life Science,
ii. Physical Science,
iii. Robotics and Intelligent Machines, and
iv. Math and Computational Science.
b. Innovation Expo: GAWAD AgLiTekno - A Technology Innovation
competition that aims to recognize the most creative and market-viable
project addressing major issues in food safety, water conservation,
renewable energy, cyber security, road safety, health, disaster
mitigation, agriculture, and environment.

c. Siyensikula: An original video creation competition.

d. #STEMTokperiments: A Tiktok Science Experiment Competition.
e. Digital Poster Making: An on-the-spot original digital poster creation
comprising a digital image using various design tools/applications.
f. Science Quiz Bee (Grades 3-12)
g. Hands-on-Minds on

4. The official participants from each district for Elementary Level, and Junior
and Senior High to the DSTF 2023 shall be the Rank 1 District/School level
Winner/s in the above-mentioned categories.

5. The participation of teachers and students shall be subject to the no-

disruption-of classes policy stipulated in DO No. 9, s. 2005 titled Instituting
Measures to Increase Engaged Time-on-Task and Ensuring Compliance
Therewith and the Policy on Off-campus Activities stated in DO No. 66, s.
2017.

6. Expenses to be incurred in the DSTF 2023 shall be charged to School

Maintenance and Other Operating Expenses (MOOE) and other local funds
subject to usual accounting and auditing rules.

7. Service credit for teaching personnel and Compensatory Time-Off (CTO) for
non-teaching personnel will be granted per DepEd Order No. 53, s. 2003
entitled “Updated Guidelines on Grant of vacation Service Credits to Teachers,
and Civil Service Commission-Department of Budget and Management Joint
Circular No. 2, s. 2015, re: Policies and Guidelines on Overtime Services and
Overtime Pay for Government Employees, respectively.

8. Attached is the Regional Memorandum, Working Committee and the Number

of participants per District/School, for reference and guidance.

9. Immediate dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.
