1. ¿What is burnout?
Burnout syndrome or "burned out worker syndrome" refers to the chronic nature of work
stress. This manifests itself through a state of physical and mental exhaustion that lasts over
time and alters the worker's personality and self-esteem. It is a process in which the worker
progressively suffers a loss of interest in his tasks and develops a negative psychological
reaction towards his work occupation.

Some reasons for work burnout may be excessive workload, lack of control over tasks, lack
of support or recognition, work conflicts and imbalance between personal and work life.
Examples could be an employee who constantly works overtime without a break, a boss
who does not provide emotional support to his team, or a work environment with high
levels of tension and competition.
3. ¿Why should one be cautious of burnout?
Burnout can have severe consequences for physical and mental health, as well as negatively
impact work quality and professional relationships.
4. ¿What is the main insight and which gender does it affect?
The main insight is that bumout is linked to stressful working conditions. Although it
affects. both genders, some studies suggest women may have a higher predisposition due to
certain social factors and work roles.

Burnout is quite common, especially in sectors with high stress levels, such as healthcare,
education, and the business environment.
6. Reasons to reduce burnout.
At the individual level: Doing physical activity. Generate meetings with our loved ones.
Avoid work overload.... Facilitate the execution of daily tasks. Promote healthy routine
programs. Make shifts and work schedules more flexible. Conduct periodic
stress assessments.
7. ¿How does it affect productivity?
Burnout decreases productivity by reducing energy, focus, and employee motivation,
adversely impacting their work performance.
