CSCC ees —$—$—$— It’s not too difficult to put up scaffolding on a small house. But scaffolding on a tall building is much more difficult to put up. Why? + Scaffolding tubes are heavy. * A tall building needs lots of tubes. + Builders, and the materials they use, are heavy too. i Now think about the strength of the wind. The wind will blow against the scaffolding platforms and toe boards; it will flap the screens. It will try to blow the scaffolding over. Scaffold design engineers have to work out the weight of the scaffolding and the strength of the wind, to make sure that their scaffolding won't fall down.
