Load contactors should be checked for wear of any form. 4 The load resistive elements are design with long life maintenance free elements, in case any element was to blow or damaged for any reason, this would affect the loading of the electrical supply. Each group of resistive load can be checked via Man Load control as per describe in the following pages. ¢ Ensure that the load bank is properly installed (sited) and the fresh air inlet and hot air exhaust outlet are free from any obstruction. + Connect the supply to be tested to the bus bars in the terminal cubical. The cables should be fed through the canvas pouch and up into the cubical. A neutral point is available for four wire systems if required. ¢ Connect the external auxiliary supply cable if required, ¢ Select “Internal” or “External” supply as the rated voltage as required. ¢ Make sure that the emergency stop button is not depressed. ¢ Make sure all doors are closed and all covers are secured before any operation. 6 The load bank is ready for use. 4 For operation instructions, please refer to the following pages for details. Network 9 More than one load bank can be linked together to increase the capacity of the system. This could be done by connecting one of the communication port of the first load bank to a second load bank. The total number of up to 8 load banks can be chained together to be controlled via a selected Master unit. Any unused sockets should be fitted with protection caps provided to prevent intrusion of water into the load bank. JERBINDO POWER SYSTEM, 1Commander — Load Bank Control Module Front control panel Display The control panel consist of 3 selector switches, emergency push button and the load bank control module, - System control selector switch (Off {Reset}/ On) Used to power on or off the load bank control module - Fan Source selector switch (Int / Ext) Used to select the power source supply to the system control and fan motor Int = Generator supply Ext = Utility supply Depending on type of load bank system this switch may not be present -Incoming Voltage selector switch (380V / 415V /440V/480V) Used to select, the correct incoming voltage according to the power supply Depending on type of load bank system this switch may not be present - Emergency Stop push button | Used to shed all load and stop rotation of the fans in case of emergency This push button should only be used in case of emergency only, please follow the proper procedure when stopping the load bank for normal usage. Operator can begin to start testing the loading of the equipment by entering the desire KW value via the numeric keypad. In order to re-enter the KW value, please touch the KW entry portion on the screen or press FI key. There are several Function keys that are useful to the operator in this mode:- E5 Key FS key is used to reduce the existing loading KW by'25% with one press of a button, (Eg. The load bank is loading at 100KW. When F6 key is pressed once the load bank will immediately reduce the load to 75K W.) Tips - In case the FS key is pressed and hold for more than Isec, the load bamk will reset the loading to. zero KW. F6-E7 Key F6 key is used to immediately cutting the load bank in KW to zero. F7 key is used to immediately return the load bank in KW as before. Tips ~ These 2 function keys are useful when the operator needs to test the behaviour and ability to withstand one step load of the equipment tested. Note: is style is not suitable when the testing equipment is not stable. Eg. When the generator set being tested the governor is not too stable and has a litle hunting behaviour. This will cause the load to goes up and down and not possible for the load bank to maintain the desired KW needled. - Press 2 to select for Fixed time adjustment. ‘Tips — In Fixed time adjustment mode, the load bank system will monitor the desired load needed within a Jfixed time set in the control system. Afier which the control system will not automaiically try :0 control of ‘any increase or decrease of load in the system. Notes This syle is more suitable when testing equipment which is not stable.
