When the leaves start to change colors and the sweaters begin leaving their closets, millions get the
itch to return to the quirky characters and cozy vibes of Gilmore Girls. Variety aptly describes the
show as “TV comfort food.” While the fictional town of Stars Hollow isn’t on any map, you can
still immerse yourself in the small-town charm that inspired the show. So, pack your bags and get
ready to explore the real-life Stars Hollow in Connecticut. Commented [2]: This was such a fun article to read!
Great job, Eliza!

Just a short walk from Lake Waramaug sits the beautiful Hopkins Inn, a lodging experience
reminiscent of Lorelai Gilmore’s Independence Inn. Although the inn is technically in Warren,
CT, it is a stone's throw away from many quintessential small-town destinations. Spending a week
at the inn will give you plenty of time to check off anything you might have on your Gilmore Girls
bucket list. Here are a few places close to the inn that will allow you to live like a Gilmore next fall.

Only a ten-minute drive from the inn is Washington, a Stars Hollow–-esque town that sits
between Hartford and Newhaven. The area boasts some of Connecticut’s best hikes, historic
homes and churches, and fun activities for the whole family, including the StoryWalk at
Macricostas that which combines nature and storytelling to create an enriching experience for
children. For those not traveling with children, the area is home to Hopkins Vineyard which
produces award-winning wines. Enjoy a wine tasting or simply visit the grounds and learn about
wine making. And if you love coffee or just like the vibes at diners, the area is home to many coffee Commented [3]: Since the audience of our magazine

the vineyard and the show, other than the fact that
even go to the Hickory Stick Bookshop and pick up your own copy of Rory Gilmore’s reading list. Lorelai really loves her wine.

Before leaving Washington, be sure to check out the Mayflower Inn—believed to be the
inspiration for Lorelai’s Independence Inn.

Venture 17 minutes west of Hopkins Inn to Kent. If you’re looking for the perfect place to do a
Stars Hollow themedHollow-themed photoshoot, visit Kent’s gazebo or one of its many
bookshops. Kent even has a village green just like Stars Hollow! For nature lovers, Kent Falls State
Park is the perfect place for hikes and beautiful views. If you want to channel your inner Emily
Gilmore, Kent has plenty of antique shops.

Just northwest of the Hopkins Inn is Angevine Farm Pumpkin Patch, a great place for apple- and
pumpkin- picking and other fall activities. You will feel like you are taking part in one of Taylor
Doose’s fall festivals. With so many fall activities nearby, it's no wonder we think fall is the best
time to plan your visit to these Connecticut locales.

Live like a Gilmore next fall by visiting escaping to small-town Connecticut for a week!.
