A. TFA F-11D by T5H - Directions
“You will remove these restraints and leave this cell with the door open.
In this “Directions” .pdf, I will try to cover all the questions that you may ask yourselves about
the different parts of the blaster kit, how to assemble them all together and what hardware you will
need to this end.
To illustrate this .pdf I will mostly use 3D renders from my 3D model, but of course I
encourage anyone of you to look as much as possible at pictures from screen-used F-11Ds because
being fan-made, my model probably has few inaccuracies.
- The first one and the most common would be what I call the STANDARD blaster. It’s the
blaster that most of the troopers carry throughout the film. Often, small differences can be
noticed between two different standard blasters as it seems propmakers kept on tweaking
the prop along the making of the film.
- The second one would be what I call the HEAVY blaster. It is a pumped out version of the
standard version, meaning that it is bigger in size, and it is equipped with a tactical stock.
- The third one would be PHASMA’s blaster. It’s a unique blaster carried exclusively by the
Captain Phasma which, in addition to a much different paintjob, has few details specific to
this blaster only. In terms of size, it is based upon the heavy version of the F-11D.
To help your understanding, in this section I am going to detail each of the parts composing
the blaster with the name it goes by, the color it should be printed in, what I think is the best
orientation to print it, and if you will need to use supports or not for the printing.
Name Color Print Supports
Barrel - T-tracks 1 to 5 Black No
Barrel Front Black Optional
Barrel Front - Muzzle Black Yes
Barrel Front - Flash Protector Black Yes
Notes:
- For the STANDARD version, the “Barrel Front” is also available with merged T-tracks instead
of separate.
- For the HEAVY and PHASMA versions, the “Barrel Front” is cut in half to fit a 20x20x20cm
bounding box. It is also available as one part for people with a bigger print volume.
Notes:
- For the HEAVY and PHASMA versions, there is no “End Cap - Swivel” part.
- The “End Cap – Clip” part is different between the HEAVY and PHASMA versions.
Name Color Print Supports
Folding Stock 1.1 White Yes
Folding Stock 1.2 White No
Folding Stock 1.3 White No
Folding Stock - Structural Bracket Silver (or machined in aluminum) No
Folding Stock - Thigh Bracket Silver (or machined in aluminum) No
Notes:
- For the HEAVY and PHASMA versions, the “Folding Stock 1.1” part needs to be 45° rotated in
order to fit inside a 20x20x20cm build volume.
- There is no “Folding Stock - Thigh Bracket” part for both HEAVY and PHASMA versions.
- There is no “Folding Stock - Structural Bracket” part for PHASMA version.
- The PHASMA version has two additional files named “Folding Stock 1 - Pill Insert 1&2”.
Notes:
- For the HEAVY and PHASMA versions, the “Handle - Textured Grip” part is split in two
different side grips.
- There is no “Handle - Trigger 2” part for the PHASMA version.
- The PHASMA version has a “Handle - Severed Trigger Guard” part instead of the usual trigger
guard.
Name Color Print Supports
Hengstler 1 Black Yes
Hengstler 2 Black No
Hengstler - Cover Black No
Hengstler - Bracket Black No
Note:
- There is no “Scope - Rear Eye Ring” and “Scope - Front Eye Ring” for PHASMA version.
Name Color Print Supports
Sight – Front 1 Black Yes
Sight – Front 2 Silver (or machined in aluminum) No
Sight – Rear Black. No
White for HEAVY version.
Notes:
- The tactical stock is available only for the HEAVY and PHASMA versions.
- All three parts of the tactical stock are different between the HEAVY and PHASMA versions.
III. Stickers Templates
The screen-used F-11Ds feature stickers in few locations. To replicate this I have made
templates of each of them for you to print on sticker paper. Please note that they are not already
sized to fit, however I have referenced the dimensions they should be printed in inside their name.
For instance, if the file is named “Rear Barrel Left Pill (42mm x9mm)”, that means you need to
arrange so the printed sticker is 42mm long and 9mm large.
Here’s the list of the different stickers and where they go:
First ones are located on both sides of the front of the folding stock, just before the flashlight tip.
Second ones are located on both sides of the rear barrel, inside pill-shaped recesses. This sticker is
different between STANDARD and HEAVY versions.
STANDARD HEAVY
The third sticker is located only on the right side of the folding stock, inside the first pill recess
above the handle. This sticker is different between STANDARD and HEAVY versions.
STANDARD HEAVY
The fourth seems to be optional and appears only on few blasters. It’s located on the left side of
the folding stock only, inside the pill recess near the flashlight tip, right above the forward grip.
IV. STEP by STEP Build Tutorial
In this section, I am going to build a whole blaster using screencaps from my 3D model to
illustrate each step. Most of the blaster assembles by using hardware. Below is a list of all the
hardware required in order to fully assemble one.

Commentaire [G49]:
I reckon that finding 40mm long M3 screws
can be difficult. They need to be that long
so you can secure the Scope Tube to the
Scope Mount at the same time that you
secure it with the Barrel Hub.
But if you have glued the scope tube, you
can use shorter screws.

“Flashlight 1”.
Commentaire [G61]:
#53: Insert the Flashlight Tip inside the
“Folding Stock 2”.
Commentaire [G63]:
The screw is here to retain the flashlight tip
from falling off. You should be able to pull
it out enough to access the twist-on
flashlight with your fingers.
Commentaire [G64]:
Front Folding Stock unit.

XIX. Finished Blaster
V. Example of 3D printed F-11D Build Thread
By following the link below you can access the build thread of my 3D printed HEAVY F-11D
Blaster. This blaster was printed from the v.2.0 of my 3D files (currently v4.0).
VI. Conclusion
So that’s that for the fourth version of my 3D model of the First Order F-11D blaster. I still feel
like there is room for improvements, but I would probably need to get my hands on an original
blaster for that.
I’d like to wish good luck to everyone who will choose to print one of these, and feel free to
share your work with these files on the FISD, whether you do it in my topic or decide to create your
own.

ACKNOWLEDGMENTS
Along the path of modeling this blaster I had help from few persons who, by their inputs or
reference pictures, allowed me to create an always more accurate 3D model. So I’d like to properly
thank those people and give them the credit they deserve.
