LOCATION: Xiowu County,China. CONSTRUCTION DETAILS:

DESIGNER COMPANY: Atelier Xi The walls are wrapped in locally sourced wood .
The exterior of the building is coated with white stucco paint.
LEAD ARCHITECT: Xi Chen
AREA IT COVERS: 316 Metres Squared The interior is composed of a series of interconnected ,curved wooden spaces.
YEAR OF PROJECT COMPLETION: 2021

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE LIBRARY.

The library is situated on a vast ice-chrsanthemum plantation
at the foot of Yuntai Mountain.
It is designed for multifunctional purposes for the
community which are:
Accomodates tea tasting parties.
For book reading.
Small scale musical performances. UNIQUE CHARACTERISTICS.
Storage for farm tools. The sculptural form of the building serves an artistic backdrop to vibrant blooms.
Workshops for agricultural education. The sloping roofs draw inspiration from the local village houses.
The building's spatial configuration serves as a container for observing the field.

LESSONS LEARNT FROM CASE COMPILED.

Natural materials such as wood can be used in construction of curved walls.
Massive windows can also serve the purpose of observing farming fields.

OPPORTUNITIES.
Construction of flat roofs instead of sloping ones ,would allow residents to enjoy
more unobstructed views.
Distance between the library and main road is a challenge and this is a challenge in
case of emergency.
