Operation The high-speed SENATOR Guillotnas are high-per- formance machines designed spectically forthe papermaking and convering incusty ~ paper mils, print shops, bookbinders, intl pring depart ments - for use wherever boar plastics, aluminium, PVC fim, wood veneers, asbestes board, emery tot, rubber and leather, a8 wel as ofr sheet ale fal, have tobe cu wih precision and speed 4, Construction Compact, space-saving dosign is one of the prime features ofthe SENATOR range of high-speed guilo- tines. The three-part, sold frame structure in heavily. ribbed. grey-cast. components ensures optimum absorption of the forces generated in clamping and cuting. 4.1. FrontBack Frame The front and back panels are of solid, heavily-ibbed design. Between the frames is mounted the crank eer, seated in needle bearings at both sides, The kaife cartier is guided in siding blocks and mounted at ether end on the iront and back panels. Precision cutting and a long service life are guaranteed by wide, long guide surfaces in the back ame and ad tionally externally adjustable guide rails in the trom frame. Extra-large rest surfaces forthe cutting table are cast into the back frame. The operating keyboard is integrated centrally al eye evel inthe front rare, 4.2. Base Frame An extremely low centre of gravy, combined with u form weight distribution and floor loading over the entire machine width, are achieved by accommoca- ting the hydraulics in the box-shaped base unit oca~ ling the main drive motor on the left and the clutch assembly on the right of the back panel. This elimi- rales any need fo anchor the high-speed guillotine into the floor surface, -SCHNEIDER SENATOR __ oes 111586 an 4.3. Clamping/Hyaraulies The original Schneider hydraulics using the twin- plunger system, acts centrally via two heavy-duty compensating levers, ensuring uniform movement and accurate alignment of the clamp. This prevents iting of the clamp, even when cutting the smallest formats. Contact pressure is applied by the clamp onto the cutting stock swifly and gently wth the pres- sure being stepless\y variable by means of a hand lever or a stepped motor. The pre-clamping time is also steplessly adjustable. The clamp cut incicator operates at a reduced clamping pressure for salty reasons. The clamp can be fted rapidly wit a variety of cover plates. 4.4. Knife DrivelCutting [A wear flat balt transmits power trom the main rive motor to the flywheel. As the cutis tipped the solenoid clutch ensures rapid and efficent transfar of direct positive force to the crank wheel drive gearing. The integrated overload clutch cuts out reliably in the event of overioad, thus eliminating the need for shear bolts and permiting the operator to proceed imme- diately tothe next step after rectilying any malfune- tion, The double crank wheel drive gearing is seated in the frame panels at both ends, The gear sprockets are of Lignastone for extremely quiet running, Ligno stone being both wear-tree and offering excellent ‘emergency running properties, ‘The knife is driven by an unbreakable terod which ‘raws the knife, boted to its knife carrier, down in a ‘swing cut through the cutting stock or product. This ccuting geometry, in conjunction with the knife which 's fixed at numerous points at 90° to the cutting stroke, ensures a uniform and distortion-tee distibu- tion of cutting force over the entire length ofthe kite Carrier. The knife camiar Is mounted al both ends in slide blocks which run in wide, long guide surfaces. ‘These guide surfaces are oxternally adjustable. Parallel and precision adjustmant of the koife. is achieved by means of cam levers mounted on the back of te machine frame, 45. Cutting Table ‘The cutting table is provided with etrong ribs on its underside for astortion resistance and connected to the machine frame by means of generously propor- tioned seating surfaces on the back panel. The table can be squared manually for knife alignment. Side- lays are provided at both sides of tha table for acou- Fate infeed positoning ofthe cutting stock. Airnozzles integrated in a close raster pattern ensure effortless ‘movement of stock on an ar cushion, The backgauge ‘guide slot uns through the centre of the table (apart from the SENATOR 185 and 260, which are fited with side backgauge guides), 4.8, Backgauge The backgauge Is manually adjustable for both tit and swing, The fingered backgauge Is provided with € spring suspension to facilitate adaptation tothe cut- ling table surface. The SENATOR 185 and 260 high- speed cutersarefited with fla backgauge plates and 2 solid, cast backgauge. The backgauge's seatedon the backgauge black, which is equipped wth ball bearings on both sides running in ground side guides, The backgauge is powered by electric motor via the surface-coated wearpcoot precision spindle wih adjustable spindle nut This ensures precise retention ‘of he cutting setting for ite. 4.7. Control System The control system rellects the latest state ofthe art ang incorporates: = fal-sale cuting systems — the latest microprocessor technology = CMOS logic for ultimate energy-saving — Video screen aispay in graphies quali SCHNEIDER SENATOR — Mevideo nr IZ 5.
