MUHI, ASEAN Engr President - This University Pe Deer President ub, Good day! ‘The PUP Office of the Student Regent (OSR) is the duly recognized representative of more than 80,000 Iskolars ng Bayan of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines Systerh. Aside from representing the student sector in policymeking body, the OSR J also dedicated in purguing the rights and welfare of the students through different platforms including mass campaigns. One of the major campaigns of the OSR is the call for a higher PUP budget. For the past years, the University has been operating under “budget deficit” This, in turn, greatly affects the quality of education given to students as there will be limited to no budget available for better facilities, equipment, comprehensive training, and other requisites for a genuine quality tertiary education. The OSR believes that PUP deserves more budget and PUPian deserves better education. With the higher PUP budget, the university will be able to provide necessary support to its growing number of students given that several branches/campuses are also targeted to be launched. Higher budget will also ensure the continuity of programs, projects, and provision of other support necessary for learning, As a constitutional duty, the OSR believes that the state should provide all requisite: to ensure that students have quality education and that other members of the academic community shall have the capacity to provide so. It is for these reasons that the OSR launches its campaign fora higher PUP budget. The OSR also believes that students should be aware and have an active voice in the planning and budgeting process of the university It is necessary to directly consult students on what projects and/ programs should be implemented for ther welfare.
