Baggage liability is covered under the WARSAW CONVENTION or the MONTREAL

CONVENTION depending on the route if travel. For travel governed by the Warsaw

Convention, airlines will reimburse up to US$ 9.07 pounds, up to a maximum weight of 70

pounds per checked bag( a maximum of US$ 634.90 per checked bag) . Baggage covered under

the Montreal Convention in reimbursed at the maximum value of 1131 SDRS ( approximately

US$ 1800) per ticket customer. SDR means “ Special Drawing Rights.

Most airlines will accept in or as checked baggage fragile, perishable or valuable articles

including without limitation money, jewellery eyewear, negotiable paper, securities,

documents/certificates ( business, medical, travel, education) samples, painting, antiques,

artifacts, manuscripts, irreplaceable books or publications, medication, keys, cameras and other

photographic or movie equipment, working paper( files studies, reference material,

correspondence, theses etc.) , or electronic equipment( videos, stereos, computers). These items

should not be place in checked baggage but can be taken on board( subject to carry-on baggage

restrictions). Except as may be required by the Montreal Convention or Warsaw Convention,

where applicable, Airlines will not except for fragile, perishable or valuable articles including

without limitation the following:

 Loss of protruding parts such as wheels, pull-straps, pocket, handles nor for damages

such as nicks, scratches, scuff marks, dents, cuts, soils; damage to wheels, handles,

pockets, locks, zippers, pull-straps or damage due to the overpacking and manufacture’s

defects.
 Damage or electronic devices, including camera equipment, cash and jewellery,

medication, business documents in checked or un-checked luggage.

 Damage arising from our compliance with applicable laws and government rules and

regulations, or from your failure to comply with same.

To limit your exposure, it is strongly recommended that you obtain adequate travel

insurance coverage prior to you journey.
