This specification will describe the Fiberglass Aboveground storage tank that is in accordance with ASTM D 3299 and shalll meet the performance ‘specifications of a filament-wound tank and shall meet all applicable standards and regulatory agency requirements, including, but not limited to, the standards and requirements of the following: C. ASTM D 3567 F, BS 4904 Tank Design Requirements Tank shall meet the following design criteria: + Internal Loads Tank shall withstand 3-5 psig hydrostatic pressure test with 5:1 safety factor; + Tank shall be designed to support accessories such as ladder, fll pipe, drain, and outlet. Product Storage Requirements 1. All tanks must be vented, Tanks are designed for operation at atmospheric pressure only, except for use with vapor recovery system, provided the pressure or vacuum does not exceed 1 psig 2. Tanks shall be capable of storing liquids with specific gravity up to 1.4. Tank Fabrication Materials 4. Resin The resin system to be used is a commercial grade, unsaturated polyester resin system. It contains NO FILLERS, DYES, PIGMENTS, or COLORANTS - as per ASTM D 3299 specifications. * The choice of appropriate resin system to be used is a responsibilty of the tank designer and shall be thoroughly discussed with the manufacturer prior to production. 2.
