From the definition it is clear that the scope of materials management is vast. The
functions of materials management can be categorized in the following ways:

components, spares and etc.
1. Macro factors: Some of the micro factors which affect material planning, are price
trends, business cycles Govt. import policy etc.
2. Micro factors: Some of the micro factors that affect material planning are plant
capacity utilization, rejection rates, lead times, inventory levels, working capital,
delegation of powers and communication.
4.11 Just-in-time (JIT) Manufacturing
Eto yung pag poproduce ng products more than it is needed or bago siya
kakailanganin
Eto naman yung wasted time sa paghihintay for the next step in the process
These are the unnecessary movements of products or materials, eto yung pag
move or pag transport ng products na hindi naman kailangan.
4. Waste of processing itself question regarding the reasons for existence of the product
and then why each process is necessary.
6. Waste of motion study for economy and consistency. Economy improves productivity
and consistency improves quality. First improve the motions, then mechanise or
automate otherwise. There is a danger of automating the waste.
These are the efforts caused by rework, scrap and incorrect information.
