Materials needed:

● 3.5 or 4mm crochet hook


● Scissors
Hey Duggee – Crochet Betty
● Darning needle
Pattern by Cornish Selkie (Siobhan Eardley)
● Toy stuffing
● 8mm safety eyes (x2)

Any DK Yarn in:

● A - Purple x1 ball
● B – Pink x1 ball
● C - Yellow x1 ball
● D - Black x1 ball
● E – White x1 ball
● F- Light Pink x1 ball

Head/ Body:
• slst: slip stitch
In Yarn A: Purple
● ch: chain
● dc: double crochet
1. dc6 into a MR
2. inc in each st around (12) ● MR: Magic ring
3. (dc1, inc) x6 (18) ● inc: increase
4. (dc2, inc) x6 (24) ● dec: decrease
5. (dc3, inc) x6 (30) ● BLO: Back loop only
6. (dc4, inc) x6 (36)
7-8. dc around (36) - x2 rounds
9. (dc5, inc) x6 (42)
10-23. dc around (42) x14 rounds
24. dec in each st around (21) - start stuffing
25. dec10, dc1 (11) - stuff more

● Fasten off and tie in ends.


Eyes:
In Yarn E: White - make 2

1. dc6 into a MR
2. Inc in each st around (12)

● Fasten off leaving tail for sewing.

Legs:
In Yarn A: Purple - make 5

1. dc6 into a MR
2. (dc2, inc) x2 (8)
3-9. dc around (8) x 7 rounds - remember to stuff as you go

● Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing and make sure they are firmly stuffed.
● Leave two slightly less stuffed at the top.

Mouth:
In Yarn F: Light Pink

1. ch5 and fasten off leaving tail for sewing.

Headband:
One in Yarn C: Yellow and one in Yarn B: Pink

1. ch 43, dc in 2nd ch, dc 41(42)


2. ch1, turn, dc 42 (42)

● Fasten off leaving a tail for sewing.

Assembly:

● Place safety eyes in the eye pieces and secure in place.


● Sew the eyes to the body 9 rows down from the starting MR (see fig.1).
● Sew the mouth on 2 rows down from the eyes in a smiling position.
● Sew the yellow headband on 1 row above the eyes and the pink headband directly above it.
● Place the legs on the bottom of the body. Pin three legs in a tripod position with two in front
and one in the back and sew in place (fig.2).
● Take the other two legs and sew them on just behind the two ‘front’ legs and position upwards
(so they look like arms) see fig. 3.
