5- Names of mountains ( The Himalayas)

6- Some countries (The UK – the United Kingdom

The USA – The United States

The Netherlands)

7- Musical instruments (The piano- The guitar)

We don’t write a, an or the before:

1- People’s names (Ali , Mona , Peter….)

2- Names of continents (Asia, Europe, Africa…..etc.)
3- Countries and cities (Egypt, France, Paris, Cairo …)
4- Languages and nationalities: Spanish , Egyptian, American
5- Sports and games (Tennis , chess, football….)
6- Subjects (Math, Science….)
7- Meals (breakfast, lunch , dinner)
8- Adjectives which are not followed by nouns (The story is funny.)
