Title

Introduction. It should begin with a hook. You should have two to three sentences

summarizing the issue you are discussing in this paper. Remember that this is not the place to

state your opinion about the topic. You are simply providing context about what is happening

and why this topic is being discussed. Finally, the last sentence in this paragraph should be your

thesis statement, which should restate the question giving your opinion, list your three supporting

details, and be one grammatically correct sentence.

This is your first body paragraph. The topic sentence should restate the question and

place emphasis on the first supporting detail that you listed in your thesis statement. Then, you

should have two sentences that contain either a reason, detail, or fact about the topic. Each one of

those sentences should be followed by at least one sentence that explains how that reason, detail,

or fact is related to the topic sentence. Finally, you should have a concluding statement that

relates this topic back to your thesis statement.

This is your second body paragraph. The topic sentence should restate the question and

place emphasis on the first supporting detail that you listed in your thesis statement. Then, you

should have two sentences that contain either a reason, detail, or fact about that topic. Each one

of those sentences should be followed by at least one sentence that explains how that reason,

that relates this topic back to your thesis statement.

should have two sentences that contain either a reason, detail, or fact about that topic. Each one

that relates this topic back to your thesis statement.

At the end of the paper should be a concluding paragraph. You should begin by

rewording your thesis statement. Then, give a one to two sentence summary of what you

discussed throughout the paper. End with one strong statement that reinforces your ideas about

the topic, such as a call to action.7
