Activity #20 (March)
I. Wives and Husbands
II.PRESENTATION
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ.”
Ephesians 5:21
Have you ever wondered who people marry?
 God wants us to be happy?
 God has a purpose for our lives.
In the Bible, God told us what roles and responsibilities are in the home and the marriage relationship.
Read Ephesians 5:21 – 33. The 13 verses talk about husbands and wives.
The first verse of this passage of Scripture is our memory verse. It is a good verse to memorize and
practice in all our relationships. It says, "Submit to one another out of reverence to Christ." To submit
means to yield your rights to another person; it means to humble yourselves to someone else's will,
needs, or desires. Who is supposed to submit according to this verse? This verse is telling each person
doing this for the other person in a relationship. We are supposed to submit to one another out of
reverence for Christ. It means that when we submit to one another we are honoring Christ.
Think of any example of submission, like the example that Jesus gave us when He came to earth
and died on the cross. Jesus was God and He has all the power of the universe. Because of this, we are
supposed to adore and worship Him, but most people would not glorify Him as they should. We have all
sinned and would have remained not right with God had Jesus not laid down His power and glory and came
to earth to die for our own sins. Jesus submitted to the will of the Father. He gave His right to be angry
to the men who nailed Him to the cross. 2 Peter 1:3 says that "His (Jesus) divine power has given us
everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory
and goodness." Jesus has provided everything we need. It was His pleasure to do this beca use He loved
us.
Being grateful to what Jesus has done for us and given us, and our example of how husbands and wives
should treat each other are examples of submission

Activity # 21 (March)
I. Children and Parents
II.PRESENTATION
"Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Honour your father and mother-which is the
first commandment with a promise- that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the
earth.' Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction
of the Lord." Ephesians 6:1-4

Read verses 1-4 of Ephesians chapter 6. These are our memory, verses for this lesson. They are
important to memorize because they tell us how to be good children an eventually be good parents.
Examine the verses in two parts - about being go0d children, then about being good parents.
Read verses 1-3. These verses are written especially to children. This is special because God knows that
His followers are children and also children who have parents who are not believers. Whichever category
you fit into, this passage will help you if you put it into practice.
Obeying is like submitting, except that obeying means you don't always have the choice to
communicate your feelings and desires. Unless your parents are telling you to do something that goes
against God's rules, you must obey them, even if you don't feel like doing what they ask you.
There are important reasons for obeying your parents.
One reason is in our verse for this lesson. "Honour your father and mother that it may go well
with you and that you may enjoy long lire on the earth," .God gave us a promise when He told us to honour
our parents-the promise of a long life on earth and that life would go well for those who obey their
parents. Honouring our parents is pleasing to God. One way we honour our parents is to obey them.
Another reason is that it will keep us from getting into trouble. There are times when we disobey
our parents and our parents do not punish us, but the consequences of our disobedience are enough
punishment. Parents teach us how to be mature and how to live in this world with others. They protect
us. God is pleased when parents are serious about their job raising healthy and godly children.
Another reason for obeying our parents is that it teaches us to obey God. God is our heavenly
Father and He loves us very much, even more than what our earthly parents do. if we can learn to obey
our parents and honor them, we will find it easy to obey God and honour Him.
In verse 4 of Ephesians chapter 6, this tells father “not to exasperate their children, but
instead, to bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.” This verse is for all parents, and
it’s for you too. This part of the Bible tells parents to be sensitive to their children. Parents need to
teach their child how to do things, treat others, how to obey, and honour and love God.
III. Let’s do this!
From the word search puzzle, circle the words that are appropriately used to fill in the blanks
that complete the memory verse.
Activity # 22 (March)
I. Imitators of Christ
II.PRESENTATION
“Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us
and gave Himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God ." Ephesians 5:1, 2
Imitators of God means we will be like him. It is important to see that God does’nt want us to
follow rules, just to see if we will. He knows what is safe for us and what will keep us physically,
mentally, emotionally, and spiritually well.
Read Ephesians 4:17 – 29; 5;4, 11, 18, and 31
 We are not supposed to live as the Gentiles do because their thinking is futile; their
understanding is darkened; separated from the life of God because of the ignorance
that is in them since they have hard hearts toward God. They are insensitive to God
and want to sin more and more. (4:17)
 We are to take care of our anger by always forgiving. (4: 26 - 27)
 We are to stop stealing or doing anything illegal; but let us work to make money to
take care of ourselves and our families. (4:28)
 We are to control what we say to avoid hurting someone's feelings. (4:29)
 We are to keep ourselves pure in all areas of our lives. We are not to be greedy
about money because this is improper for God's holy people. (5:31)
 We are to be careful not to be fooled by someone who talks well or is persuasive
 about disobeying God. (5:6)
 We are not to participate in any way with anything evil or sinful. ( 5:11)
 We should not get drunk on wine or alcohol of any kind because this leads to sin
and disobedience. (5:18)
Let us be filled with God's Spirit and obey God, to fulfil God's plan for our lives.
