Process Diagram

For processes ask yourself how many main stages there are and what are the main changes
and outcomes.

Overview

 Clearly mention the total no of steps involved.

 Highlight the major steps / beginning and end steps.

The diagram below shows the stages and equipment used in the cement-making process, and
how cement is used to produce concrete for building purposes.

These diagrams illustrate the phases and devices that are utilized to manufacture cement and the
usage of cement for concrete production for construction activities.

Overall, production of cement involves five steps that begin with the mixing of raw materials and
terminates in the packaging. Preparing concrete require two steps, which include combining four
ingredients in a massive container.

In the first step of manufacturing cement, the two ingredients: limestone and clay are crushed
into fine powder with the help of a tool called crusher. Secondly, the resulting powder is
intermixed in a mixer before it is passed through a rotating heater, where heat is supplied. In the
next phase, the mixture is processed by a grinder. Finally, cement is packed in bags and ready to
be used to form concrete.
For concrete preparation, (four) elements/raw materials such as sand (25%), water (10%), gravel
(50%), including cement (15%) are supplied/combined. These ingredients are taken in precise
proportion/quantity and subsequently, introduced into a large concrete mixer, where proper
blending is done to make a concrete mass.
